Dear Mr. Pruitt,
As stated in your lease agreement Article 9, the floors that are covered in carpet must be steam cleaned prior to vacating the apartment. Your apartment had carpet in the living room and all three bedrooms. Since you did not have this done, we paid to have it done at a higher rate than $35.00.
Article 19, which you intialed, states that only a twelve month lease can be terminated with paying the appropriate fees and with a proper written notice. Unfortunately, you signed a six month lease when you moved in.
Upon move-in, you choose to pay your redecoration fee, which is used to offset costs of repainting your unit instead of paying a high rental deposit. Instead of paying this at move in you decided to pay it at move out. Even though the current staff was not here to review this with you, I have the signed and initialed agreement with your signature.
I apologize that you feel that ten days was not enough notice to pay these fees. But, we expect these fees to be paid prior to vacating. Since you were kind enough to leave a forwarding address, we were able to contact you without involving our credit agency.
Since you lived at Eagles Landing for six months, I am sure that you were aware that our office is manned seven days a week from sun up to sun down. If you are unable to reach someone during those hours, we do have an answering service that is available as well twenty-four hours per day. I know that if you tried, you would have been able to reach someone.
