No parking, loud music and drunk teenagers; however great location and courteous staff as long as you don?t have any serious issues with them.

I selected Wildforest because of its central location and a particular apartment which years earlier was rented by a friend was available.

When I moved in June 2000 everything was immaculate and I experienced no problems with the management or any tenants. I have never been delinquent with my rent payments. My lease allows payments to be made through the 5th of each month without being considered late, and I have never paid my rent past the afternoon of the 5th.

The first problem I had with the management was when my car was ticketed for not moving. The car was in excellent shape and certainly was not an eyesore. I was not driving the car because it is registered in Houston County and it was impossible to arrange to spend an entire day during normal business hours to acquire the sticker.

I have a two bedroom apartment and I told the manager I owned two vehicles when I moved in. In the three years I have been here I have never entertained anyone. I have had friends and employees drop by very briefly from time to time, but my guests have never taken other tenants spaces. I felt that for $815 for a two bedroom apartment for one person I should be entitled to two parking spaces, yet I was usually only able to have one parking space, and I was now being asked not to use it.

In August of this year a group of immature teenagers moved in below me and began playing music at high volume at all hours of the night. After a few weeks of this I very nicely made a complaint to the manager, almost apologizing for having to complain. She was very courteous and apologetic and apparently did speak with the tenants about the music, but they continued the loud music. When I called the second time, they suggested that I call the police if it happened again. The following Sunday morning at 3:30 a.m. the music was still blaring, rattling things in my kitchen cabinets. I called the police. They came and the music stopped. After the police left the drunk teenager started banging on my door and would not stop. After ten minutes I called the police again and they came back out and dealt with the situation.

The following Sunday afternoon other immature teenagers were launching water balloons with a huge slingshot. They hit the car I was driving and I felt insecure in a way that I do not recall feeling before, having never experienced anything like this. Once again, I contacted the manager, this time advising her answering service that I wanted to speak with her immmediately. She did get in touch with me immediately. She was courteous and assured me the situation would be dealt with. Subsequently there was a letter of apology posted on the management office door, so this really turned out to be a childish prank, but again, the feeling of being attacked was unnerving in a way I cannot really describe.

When I went to pay my rent for November I mentioned that other tenants were regularly entertaining enough guests that there was never any parking. The manager again was very nice and said she would try to begin better enforcement of the parking policy as stipulated in the lease.

The following weekend a large party was held in the clubhouse and all available parking throughout the complex was used. When I arrived home a drunk teenager nearly collided head-on with me. I was unable to find a parking space and parked behind two cars with Kentucky license plates not authorized to park. Rather than apologizing for taking my parking space, the drivers of these cars seemed surprised that I would question their parking there.

On November 6 when I arrived home with bags of groceries there again was no parking, and at least ten cars were non-resident cars. I phoned the office answering service and expressed my dissatisfaction very strongly with the parking situation. I did not use any vulgar or abusive language, but simply stated that I expected to be assured of my parking spaces or "else." My lease expires December 31, and after the last several incidents I had already decided I was not going to sign another lease but would remain month to month as stipulated in my Lease Agreement.

Tonight when I arrived home the manager had taken the liberty of filling out a "Notice to Vacate" form for me, specifying the date I would be leaving. Of course, this is contrary to the terms of the Lease, and she and I will be working out those details.

The rent at Wildforest is the highest of any basic apartment layout in town. There are apartments slightly higher that include a garage with an electric garage door opener, etc., but other than the location Wildforest has nothing more to offer than any other similar apartment of $100 to $200.00 less per month.

Summary: the parking situation is absolutely ridiculous. I have never heard of any apartment complex of this type not providing parking for their residents.

If you dont mind the ridiculous parking situation, loud music, and frequent encounters with loud, intoxicated teenagers driving dangerously I highly recommend the complex for its unbeatable location and caring attitude of the manager as long as you dont have any real issues that need to be addressed.

Please e-mail me if I can answer any other questions. I have supporting documentation for the situations I have described.
