Safety From: chuck9326@bellsouth.net Date posted: 4/25/2008 Years at this apartment: 2000 - 2008   I live in the Chateau area and we have two lighting systems that have failed and Engel Realty will not fix them. The 2 large laterns on each end of the buildings simply need light bulbs and they will not fix them. Not one of them in the whole area lights. The light poles on the streets are also out and apparently there is a problem between Engel and Alabama Power over these lights. This has gone on for many months. The upkeep of the grounds has gotten horrible. The pools and pool decks are nasty. The laundery room is also nasty. The trash compactors are broken and the trash situation is unbleviable. I know a number of residents have called the health department about the various situations. I have lived here for 8 years and always loved it, but not anymore. I don't think the residents are going to tolerate this much longer.
