Before I moved in, I couldn't view my apt....the girl at the front desk said," It was the law" so I asked her to let me see this so call law in writing. She left and came back after speaking with someone and said, "Well, it's not a law but it is our practice". Duh! I know this was a huge warning sign but I needed somewhere cheap to move. In this case you really get what you pay for!!!!!! They fixed nothing.
I had to demand a (DEAD-BOLT) be placed on my front door. I feared the safety of my self and child. For three months I complained about the street light not working. I dared not to go outside after 9p.m, which leads me to the straw that broke the camels back.
(PLEASE READ PARENTS)
They will let anyone move in. They pretend to do back ground checks.....they don't. During my stay of 10 months on a 12 months lease, I was fearful of all the convicted pedophiles/ rapist (5) FIVE to my knowledge that they let move in. They didn't tell you of these child molesters either, the only way you would find out is when the Sheriff department sent a notice to the residence of the community notifying you. When I complained about this, they replied, We can't help who moves in with a paying tenant, if their name isn't on the lease a back ground check wasn't necessary. Before you even think you want to move here please feel free to conduct a search yourself (for your family s safety) copy and paste this link: http://www.sheriffalerts.com/cap_main.php'office=53840 and place the Grand at the Galleria's address in. Hopefully, they have gotten some sense and kicked these convicts out. Maybe you recall the killing of a woman who was walking her dog...this is the apartment complex this happened in. I m not kidding around this is not the kind of place you would want to live. Yes, it s in Hoover, but Hoover isn t the same as it used to be.
Oh, the kicker......they didn't refund my deposit even after they told me I was entitled to it!! Please be safe.

New Mang. buhh..buhh..buhh? They are updating the out side but, what about the inside. If you are going to start out fixing things try painting all of the complexs then start on a new project. Im very embarrassed to invite people over to my apt, cause once they hear I live in Hoover they assume that its a nice guarded apt. complex NO..NO..No its no Stonegate which are gorgeous! Im moving their once my lease is up my aunt lives their and i love it, i feel comfortable walking at nigt over their even a jog. If you are not a morning person you will be if you live here construction every day for what alot of dug up holes in front of your apt . yah! thatz inviting. Well if I knew all of this, before moving in, I would have changed my mind this place sucks..sucks..sucks. I got suckered in by the office staff saying how wonderful it was here...not.. they are all liarrrrrrrrrrs!!!!!!!!!!!! Fix up the inside and stop letting just anybody move in and get, a security gate or a over night guard instead of a fake dummy. I wouldnt mind recommending this complex to Family and Friends ....So until then keep your flyer for somone who cares..Oh yah i know to update alot of things that mean rent goes up. Thats fine with me cause I picked this place for location cause of my job. My 1st choice didnt have any 2 bedrooms available at the moment.apt Finder stated that this place was a great place to live she even said she stayed here before. Anyway that is enough ventting for today.

All these parties are correct, except for the one talking positive. That is deffinately someone who works here or has someone close to them that does. We have had a shower leaking since December, with no repairs yet. Water damage under the sinks is ignored. Lights are out with no repair work being done. The office staff is by far the worst I have ever seen in my 25 years of renting in many places. Take all of our advice, don't walk, run away form this place. As soon as my lease is up we are out of this horribly managed place.

If your going to try to state fact, make sure you know what you are talking about. If you go to that website you mentioned above, you will only find one person.

Hello--- Thanks to people like Sally963 for warning families like me and other, before walking into danger. This blessed me, just today 7/28/09, I was looking for an apartment and considered stopping by tomorrow. I went to the website and saw the same offenders you listed above registered. I understand now what my parents use to always tell me; eveything that glitters isn't GOLD. In other words, just because the apartments are in Hoover doesn't mean it's a safe place to reside. Thanks again Sally963; we need more people like you. Times are hard enough without being fearful in your home/apartment, worrying about broken appliances, water leaks, dirty trash and being lied to. I work hard for my money and plan to make wise decisons before spending. May God bless you Sally963. I will still ride through and if the trash is still overflowing, I will call the Health Department on them. As for the renter with the water leak. Don't keep calling and asking for it to be repaired, CALL THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT. This is against Health Regulations as well as the trash overflowing. Call them about the lights being out, this again is a health and safety issue. They should be shut down until the property passes the inspection code.

In response to the person who assumes aawriter is a part of the office staff or close to them, I am not a member of the staff, never have been, and I don't know the names of any of the people there. I just don't seem to have the problems you have had here. In fact, I love it here. I have a good friend who lives on the other side (older section) and she loves it here. We have a mutual friend in a 1-bedroom whose apartment was broken into recently and the office bent over backwards to meet her request to move to an upper floor. Break-ins happen. Police calls happen. Domestic disputes, drunken fights, drugs are epidemic in our society. You won't find any apartments where you can hide from that. I have a friend in a gated community and they've had break-ins, too. As to getting help from the office, a little honey and patience go a long ways. Walk a mile in their shoes before condemning them out of hand. They are trying to repair and fix things (like the pools) that have been ignored for too many years by the previous owners. They inherited the mess.

That's great that you are not part of the stuff, sorry that I offended you by saying so. Even though you are not, it's very strange that you are the only one that has not had issues with anything at this complex. I have even had a police officer tell me that I need to move as soon as I could once he found out where I lived. That alone doesn't speak very well of the complex. Anyways, when it is time for me to move out, I will leave a list behind as well as pictures of all the issues with my appt. It will be awhile before they are able to lease it back out due to the issue I have had to deal with without them being resolved. I also have recent things that need dealt with that I just refuse to call about b/c they have never taken care of the other obvious issues that I have reported time and again. Even my neighbors see the issues I have. Also, they illegally enter your apt and then can't give you any answers as to why or who allowed pest control to come in. This has even been discussed with the Asst Manager and I still have not received the promised phone call after it being researched. Last week I came home to find my door unlocked so that shows that once again someone was in my unit and they deny it. This is not a safe place for anyone. Oh, and the repairing of the outside of the buildings has also stopped. They left one building halfway through the job and the dumpsters are horrible!! Still!!! It's been more than a month later and now both of dumpster areas are broke!! and the pools stay green!

I agree with AAWRITER about the crazy little SALLY. What an idiot! Please bore someone else with your useless information. There is no need to keep on talking about the past if you moved out in 2008. Get a life! Also, for the links person, it might be helpful if the apartment was occupied!!! IT IS VACANT! I checked it out last night. I actually enjoy my apartment and the management staff. Please grow up and use your time more wisely.
