So a friend and I moved here in March, at first the apartments seemed really great. However from week one we had issues.
1. You need a laundry card, kind of like a key card, but for the washer and dryers. No biggie right, well it is if no one ever told you that you would need one. No where in the lease or the intial paperwork does it tell you that you need this.
2. Water seems to be in short supply around here. Aparently Ridge Crossings has the worst plumming system in the U.S. because in August, almost every week we were without water for at least a day. The odd thing is that they predicted the "water main break" two days before it happened (those types of things can't be predicted) and that you never see any plumming or city crews in here fixing the so called problem.
3. The screen to our sunroom is being held together with duct tape. Yep duct tape, and thats ony because we were tired of seeing it hang half-way off the window sill. And our neighbors windows are so filfthy and this is on the outside (some windows are double paned and you can tell the dirt is on the outter pane).
4. Speaking of dirt when the landscaping guys come in they use a leaf blower to blow away the cut grass too bad they blow all kinds of leaves and twigs into the walk-way.
5. Our neighbors (the ones with the dirty windows...she like to leave her trash in the walk way, overnight. YUCK!!!
6. The trash compactor overfills weekly, it got so bad once that they had to get another dumpster and it still was overflowing with garbage and it smelled so bad!!! Sometimes even the mailbox area is completely trashed.
7. So when we first got here our fridge leaked, well the problem got continually worse. We were pretty much calling maintenace every few weeks to get it fixed. then one day it got so bad that our whole kitchen floor was covered in water and there was ice two inches thick in the freezer. We called maintenace several times and each time this rude woman answered the phone, her words "well your just going to have to deal with it until they get there" they got there the next morning. Too bad that by the time they got there i had already fixed the problem, yea i may have only been two hours of my life waisted on someone elses job but i had to deal with it not that woman. Oh and we had to call three more times before the fridge that they promised us in May was finally given to us. Oh and this one is missing hardware, a shelf for the freezer and the ice maker doesnt work.
8. The water heater is another mystery. On Sunday we woke up to no hot water, they said that we needed a new water heater. Still no hot water, we need a new gas valve. Still no hot water and now it is Wednesday. Oh, you have a clog in the gas line outside. WHAT!'!'!'!'!'! WHY DIDN'T YOU CALL THE GD GAS COMPANY IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!! So we finaly got hot water on Thursday.
9. The washer dryer connection, it leaks too. kinda odd seeing as how we dont have a washer or dryer in here.
10.BUGS!!!! yep thats right lots of bugs, specifically ear wigs. But dont call pest control because all they do is spray your window sills.
11. the clean up between renters isnt that great either, there is this huge black mark on my bathroom wall from the previous renters and when they painted the apartment before we moved in they did a piss poor job, there is paint on the closet doors and on the black window sills.
12. The master bathrooms door sticks so becareful if you like long showers because if that door swells you'll be in there a while.
13. Noise is an iffy issue, sometimes you'll here ppl coming in at 2 and 3 am with their music thumpin and the people above us like to move furniture in the middle of the night, yea they can get pretty loud.
14. Our upstairs neighbors have a huge golden retriever, cool dog and all but they never clean up his crap!!! I just went outside to get something out of my car and the dog did his deed and then he went upstairs with his owner.
So after all that what are the good points:
1. Landscaping is really nice
2. Maintenance men are really nice.
3. Always parking
4. A lot of families stay here so there are never/rarely any police alterations
5. Spacious fp
All in all, I'm not renewing my lease there are so many other and much better places to live.
