Slum and "The Little Mexico of Alabama" From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 10/17/2006 Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2006   The demo apartment is NOTHING like the apartment you will get. The demo is (depending on if you want two bed or single bed) just a layout in the first building that they keep maintained and that no one lives in! I cant stress enough about how bad the apartments really are. Before we moved in I came out to "inspect" the unit we were moving in to. There was paint on the fireplace where they had oversprayed by like 3 feet when painting the walls, the kitchen appliances were dirty and dingy and the air didnt work. This was 3 weeks before our move in date. I was assured that the fireplace would be fixed before move in (it wasnt). I was assured that the kitchen appliances would all be replaced with new units (they werent, they only replaced the fridge and even on it we had to have them fix the casters because the damn thing rolled across the floor when you tried to open the door). Dont even get me started on the nasty ass oven and the dishwasher that hardly cleans anything. The air was fixed but only worked for 2 weeks. There was a doll (a lifesize 3 foot tall female doll) hanging from our tree, that was a fun conversational peace. The toilets didnt work properly for almost a year and it took about that long to get someone out to fix them. The air has been sporatic and has gone out about 6 times in the last year and a half. The dishwasher has gone out about 3 times. The food disposal system in the sink is disgusting, not only does it make a noise louder than if you were cutting metal with a chainsaw but it also is a nice breeding point for fruit flies during the hot months (that was a nightmare). Overall the apartment itself is "ok" in appearance but as for the maintenance and the crew themselves my recommendation would be to find something else.
