Last week, my upstairs neighbor was playing with his gun and 'accidentally' shot through the ceiling of my apartment into the living room. I was in my apartment at the time and was extremely lucky I was not sitting on my couch at the time. Unfortunately, the apartment manager felt that the only action necessary to ensure everyone's safety was to ask him to get rid of the gun. There is no way to enforce this or to guarantee he has done this. This was an extremely poor decision by management and showed a lack of concern.

I requested to be let out of my lease since they were not concerned with the safety of their residents. Under the circumstances, they have agreed to let me out of my lease but I will forfeit my deposit. I feel this is an incredible injustice but my safety is more important than the deposit.

I contacted WAFF Channel 48 and they aired my story on April 15 and April 16. After speaking with reporter Susie Edwards, management had a change of heart. They informed me that if I wanted to stay they were willing to make the man who shot my apartment move. For me this is too little too late.

Furthermore, after turning in my notice, the manager refused to give written confirmation that it had been received. Frankly, when dealing with people I do not trust I get everything in writing...funny that she refuses this.

I cannot in good conscience recommend these apartments to anyone. aLKeoXpj3s4OSgrp1trb
