Resident for 6 months on a 12 month lease. Twice had problems with gunshots in the parking lot at night, constant noise from apartment tenants and neighborng aparmtent complex.

I only use the apartment for when I am in town, usually 3 to 5 days a week. This is not a friendly environment for business person needing a part-time residence for long term. I have no plans to renew the lease after it expires.

Twice I have been called out of town and incurred 100 dollars additional charge on my rent because I passed the due date by 1 or 2 days. I consider these excessive charges with no grace period for issues that may arise. This makes Sealy a bad choice for people who frequently travel.

Online payment is available but the Sealy Bucks have no method to enter the discount information electronically crediting the account when you do pay the rent via the website. This results in a trip to the rental office, which defeats the purpose of online payments.

Maintenance staff on-site is excellent for three issues I reported, but dealing with customer service policies and office managers is frustrating and causes nothing but grief.

Other residents, including myself, heard the noise. There is no evidence to what the noise was or where it was coming from. I checked the news and talked with police officers that live on our property and there were no reports of guns being fired. The policy is rent is due before the first of the month and late fees are charge on the 5th. We do accept pre-paid rent, rent can be paid online and we have a drop box at the office for the residents conveience. We have many people who are here only 2 to 4 days during the week and have had no other complaints. Rent can also be mailed in, by the 4th with a personal check. The online payment center allows you to make a payment of any amount and the "sealy bucks" for rent credit can then be mailed, brought to the office or put in the drop box at anytime by the 4th of the month. The late fee is 10% of the rent amount. We will deal with noise and disturbance issues immediately. Residents do have to call and let us know there is a problem since we cannot sit and watch the apartment 24 hours a day. We do not have complants for noise at this time.

As a current resident myself, it does not surprise me about the gunshots. This area of town is really bad. We are not renewing our lease once it expires. I will say that the office staff has been very gracious to us and always polite & responsive. I had one noise complaint and they handled it quickly and were even apologetic although it wasn't their fault. I agree that paying rent online is a joke though. Unless you have a Discover card, you have to pay around $40 for credit card fee. At least that is what Visa wanted to charge us. I just paid my rent a few days early when I was going out of town and that worked out just fine. I agree about the neighborhood though. Yikes!
