Like Pulling Teeth!
From: -Anonymous-Date posted: 3/29/2005
Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2002
Positives:
Close to UAH & the mall
Easy access to interstate
Located between Huntsville and Madison
Negatives:
Maintenance is inept, to put it kindly.
The office staff is rude.
Parking is terrible!
The walls are thin, and the buildings are right next to the interstate so you always hear traffic.
My husband and I lived there for a year, and after only three months of our lease we wanted out. The carpet was disgusting when we moved in, they don't clean it they powder it and cover the nastiness up. We ruined a vacuum because of all the powder in the carpet. They paint when the person before you moves out, and paint right over old nails in the wall, countertops, the floor. The appliances are OLD, including the fridge, 70's colored dishwasher, stove. Maintenance will do everything possible to keep from having to fix or replace anything in your place. Our A/C unit was running our electric bills through the roof and would not heat past 65 or cool past 80 for 9 months of our lease. I was told that our A/C unit was attached to the apartment downstairs. Figure that one out. I had to file with the BBB to get it fixed! Whatever you do, don't change jobs or decide to buy a house while you're in a lease at Governor's House, they will bend you over. Parking is a joke. Expect to park at another building and walk to yours because there won't be any available. This place is so close to the interstate that's the only thing you hear.
Definitely avoid this place!
