I lived at Hillside from Jan 08 to Jan 09 and it was ridiculous. Not only was the managment required to hire a private security service to try and keep the crime under control (car and apt. break-ins) but the owners decided that a 30% discount would be given to residents who would not pay their rent. if you did pay your rent on time guess how much of a discount you got, 5%. Office hours vary with daylight. The private security disappears after dark. Hated living there. Only recommendation is that you own a firearm before moving in.

I live at hillside village apartments and for awhile it was ok. I was broken into one aftertoon while I was away. They stole about $3k worth of belongings. Fortunately, I have renter's insurace (which is a must). I purchased a firearm after that incident and am itching for a chance to use it on the scum that violated the sanctity of my temple. I am almost positive it is a certain individual on the maintainence staff. This individual was in my home on a Friday doing some work (I was at home), and the next Friday I was broken into. What's funny is whoever did it came in through the front door using a key. It was VERY OBVIOUS. They broke two holes in the bedroom window to make it look like they reached in to unlatch and raise it. There was still glass on the hinges and the dust around and on the window was undisturbed. They screwed up royally. My advice to you: Change your locks AS SOON AS YOU MOVE IN! That is, if you choose to do so. I'll be moving out soon, but hopefully not before I get a chance for payback. It's a nice looking place, with spacious and affordable living. Unfortunately the cons outweigh the pros. :(
