I really do love the way that the apartments are set up and also the lovely interior. Its in a beautiful neighborhood and is safe. The landlady is quite agreeable and seems thus far to be concerned about the welfare of her tenants. So if it werent for my allergies and asthma, i would love it here. They didn't clean my apartment before I moved in. It was dusty and cobwebs were in several of the corners. There was an awful smell coming out of the closet space where the washer and dryer were. I looked back there and there was literally a 4 inch tall at the highest by 1.5 foot wide PILE of mold or something in there behind the washer and dryer. The maintenance man came out to fix it right away. He cleaned it up within 20-30 minutes. The smell was still there. It burned my lungs and made my throat swell. I hated breathing in there. Until I got my facemask, I dreaded every breath that I had to take in. Each time the vents blew cooled air into the apartment, it bombarded me with the painful stench. I called again and the maintencance man cleaned out the vents. When i came back, it smelled nice. However, the insidious odor of the chemicals used began to burn my lungs, make my eyes sting a bit and make my throat swell a bit. I called again to see what could be done. the maintenance man had done everything he knew to do was what i was told. I assumed this much anyway. The assistant manager was concerned about my health and suggested that i stay at a friends house until monday when the manager was back. She came back on monday and called first thing in the morning. She offered to 1. let me out of my lease 2. Let me move into another unit or 3. let the carpet people come out to see if anything could be done about the carpet. I stayed at a friends house for a few days, and the smell got better. Now I realize that someone downstairs smokes and it aggravates my asthma and allergies. However, the smell in the laundry closet area is still bad. Its right by the kitchen and makes me nauseous and not interested in eating, but i gingerly do so anyway if I get hungry enough. There isn't any sign as of yet of anyone moving out of an apartment my size. The first is tomorrow and I can check back then. I am in the process of looking for other places and will call the office tomorrow to see if anyone has put in a notice of vacancy yet.

They have all been good to me thus far. The only thing that would change this perception of them is if Sally doesn't keep her promise about the 3 choices she gave me. Its hard to rate the community when I have a bad unit. I don't know what the other units are like, but this one has to be the worst or at least one of them.
