Beautiful on the outside, but don't be fooled. You will pay for that in your rent, which is raised every year because, they told me, "of all the million dollar homes being built across the street." In my estimation, having to listen to the construction of million dollar homes for the duration of my two years at Paddock Club, having my patio covered in red dust from the building, and the incredible increase in the volume of traffic in the area did not justify the rent hike.

The security gates, of which they are so proud, do not work. Once every three months when they decide to give them another go, they will trap cars at the entrance and a maintenance man will have to come and physically tear the gate off its hinge.

The office staff will not respond to complaints. I had a neighbor who liked to show off his handgun, which is supposedly against the contract, but they didn't care. They also don't respond to noise complaints and say there's nothing they can do. The walls are not well insulated and the same neighbor with the gun played his stereo so loudly that the vibrations from the bass carried across the breezeway all the way to the back bedroom of my unit. Kids run wild, break the exercise equipment, shoot off fireworks.

The carpet was in poor condition when I moved in. Tiles were cracked. There was fresh paint, but that came with the previous tenant's hair embedded in it. The apartment was left in perfect condition, with upgrades to the showerhead and thermostat that I had installed remaining, since I had no use for them, and the office staff who came an hour and a half late to do the move out inspection said that I would get the full deposit refund. After I called two months later to inquire about the check, I was sent a refund of $36, with no explanation. When I called about that, I got no answers and finally had to give up, since it was clear that since I was no longer a resident, I was going to get even less satisfaction than I had as a tenant.
