In response to the last listing, crime happens everywhere. Just because it happened here, doesn't mean your not safe and it wont happen at your next complex. If I sat here and listed all the complexes in Huntsville this happened at you wouldn't have anywhere to live. I currently live in a house in madison and it happened not long ago two buildings down. If you need pest control you need to call the office weekly and ask for them because when I lived there I did just that and they came out and sprayed every week. In this day and time no one is 100% completely safe anywhere. You could be shot going to the stores in bridgestreet or what is considered the finest of the finest. There are 2 courtesy officers on site and its a public road and police patrol here as well as everywhere else.

Crime seems to happen a lot there. From the Huntsville Times:
"Series of crimes began on Oct. 22, police say
Huntsville police arrested a man Wednesday they believe kidnapped at least six women at gunpoint and forced them to drive to ATMs and withdraw cash.
Jacques Laviord Pyant, 25, is charged with eight counts of robbery, six counts of kidnapping and one count of sodomy for allegedly forcing one of the women to give him oral sex, police Sgt. Mark Roberts said.
The most recent kidnapping happened Wednesday night, when a 25-year-old woman was forced back into her car in the 6200 block of Rime Village Drive, according to the police report."
Roberts said the first kidnapping occurred Oct. 22, with the second happening a week or two later.
Pyant was allegedly targeting women at apartment complexes on Rime Village Drive, Old Madison Pike and Sparkman Drive during evening hours, usually between 8 and 11 p.m., Roberts said.

It seems clear that all of the 5-star recommendations on this apartment complex are coming the from management and not people who live here. I have lived here for a few years and I have seen things going downhill for quite a while. It is becoming evident that this apartment complex (700 apartments) is too large to manage. It is much harder to get anything done maintenance wise from the office. Those burned down apartments should have been taken care of by now if this apartment complex was financially healthy because they are an eyesore. I agree that it is in bad taste for management to be posting 5-star safety ratings because of what is happening here.

HUNTSVILLE, AL - Police are investigating a man's death at an apartment complex in west Huntsville.
Police say Gayland Maurice Steele, 23, was found dead Tuesday morning. He was in his unit at The Reserve Apartments at Rime Village. This is behind the Target shopping center on University Drive.
Police were called out shortly after 11am. Investigators have not released Steele's cause of death, but do say he was murdered

So police do say the man was murdered. Unless you have a source for your statement, we must assume you to be incorrect.
