After looking through some of the older reviews written here, I have to wonder if these people were staying in the same place as I was. My wife and I stayed at The Lexingtons from around January to August of 2007 while we were house hunting. We had one of the two bedroom apartments in the older section, which faced the smaller neighborhood road on the North side of the complex. We absolutely loved it!

We had a nice fireplace, a big window attached to our second floor balcony, places for our washer and dryer, etc. Also, it should be mentioned that the neighborhood to the North of the complex is wonderful. We had a great time taking walks and riding bikes throughout there all of the time. If you don't mind walking a bit, there's a really great playground about half a mile north of the apartments that's a great place to go kill some time or bring the kids to play.

I know that some people have expressed concerns about ants or break ins, but this was never an issue for us. I saw a few here and there, but it was never a big deal or anything. And we never had (or even heard of) anything broken into. I don't know why there seems to be so much concern about this. It was non existent from my point of view.

The only negatives I could cite about the place (and this sounds bad) would be that there are a lot of younger people living here. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but if you are an older person who wants peace and quiet, you'll probably find something to be picky about. There's usually kids riding bikes or skateboards in the driveways. Not a big deal, but if you like to find things to complain about, you'll probably find a good reason to with them. If I personally had any real complaint, it would be that the pool rules aren't really enforced. On a few occasions, I saw people get in the pool in full clothes, which is just a little gross. And then of course, there are the people who say that you can't get out of a lease. Guess what' I did! My wife and I put money down on our new house a month before our lease was up and Pam and the rest of the nice folks in the office were glad to let us leave a month early so that we could go ahead and move into our new place.

In summary, I would reccomend The Lexingtons to anyone. It's an attractive, safe, and friendly place to stay.

I'm glad you enjoyed your stay and have been fortunate enough never to experience a break in. The reason you have not heard of any apartments being broken into is because the management won't tell you. My neighbor's apartment was burglarized (she came and told me what happened), and 3 months later mine was broken into as well. After filing a police report, I found out that break-ins are quite common in the Lexington's. I lived on the second story in the NEWER section of the Lexingtons and my deadbolt was latched, but the thief climbed my balcony, and broke through my lock during the day while I was at work. After trying to explain to the management that they needed to inform the other residents what happened so they could be more aware of suspiciuos activity and protect themselves from being robbed, they told me they we;re going to because it would just make them worry. I took it upon myself to tell everyone who lived around me what happened...wouldn'tyou want to know? Overall, the apartments are nice, and unfortunately, theft is a reality no matter where you live. My suggestion to everyone who rents an apartment anywhere (in addition to keeping you doors locked at all times) is to have another level of security, at the very least a latch/doorstop, an inexpensive alarm, or what I have now...a montiored alarm system. It's expensive, but the level of comfort and safety I feel greatly outweighs the cost.
