My husband and I did a short term lease at Weston Ranch. We were only living there for the summer of 2008 because my husband had an internship in Huntsville. The place was okay. My main complaint is the staff. The staff wrote in our lease that we only had to pay a short term fee of $50 the first month. It was written in the contract. After we paid the second month rent, we got a note on our door saying we didn't pay the full payment. I called about this and told them that I have a receipt to prove it. They told me they'd check into it and call me back. They never called back. I called them back a few days later, and they told me that we have to pay the short term fee every month. I told them in the contract it did not say that. They didn't believe me. My husband and I went to the office together to prove it to them. After arguing with them for a while, they finally said that they would waive it that month, but we'd have to pay it the rest of the time we lived there. Since it was a short term lease, we only had to pay it again on our last month there. We had a few other minor problems with the staff because their communication skills were very poor.
My second complaint is the gates. The gates worked the first few weeks we were there, and then they broke and didn't work the rest of the summer. In my opinion, they should get rid of the gates and make the rent cheaper.
My third complaint is the laundry mat. We didn't want to move our washer and dryer just to be there a few months. So we used the laundry mat on the property. There were 6 washers and 6 dryers. 1 washer and 1 dryer were never fixed the entire summer. They always left the air conditioner on too high so we had to wear jackets while waiting for out laundry.
Lastly, we saw some spiders, but there were no major bug problems.
Overall, we were just okay living there. I would not want to live in those apartments again though. We were so happy to leave. Instead of the place feeling like home, it felt like all everyone was concerned about was showing off.
