When I moved into these apartments with my fiancee a year ago they appeared to be so nice and quiet...until I had to live there myself. They told us that the pool was due for a cleaning the next week (it was green when we moved in and has been ever since). The laundry room is next to the pool and it always reeks of mildewing water from the washing machine release. The bathroom was disgusting when we moved in. The bottom of the tub had black footprints in it and the grout in between the tiles was BLACK! My mom and I spent 4 hours one night scrapping out the old grout and regrouting it ourselves. Our air conditioner was broke for almost a month...they kept on "fixing" it by playing with the unit and walking outside. What it really needed was some freon they were just to cheap to put some in the dang unit. Finally after I left a nasty note on the office door (because they are never there) they finally decided to put the freon in the unit like I had told them in the first place. Parking is horrible! A broken down truck (Explorer) has been siting in the same spot for the past year. It has no tags, flat tires and is not mobil, but all the office staff did was put a warning on the front of the truck. A tow truck even came out to pick up the Explorer but for some reason left with no Explorer. To this day the broken down suv remains in the same space as always. A tenant left my fiancee a dirty note on his car telling him not to park in that spot that it was his/her spot because they had lived there for the past 4 years. (Like that?s something to be proud of) Then was too chicken to even write their name on the note. When we confronted the office they said "Oh, don?t worry about it". Shortly thereafter my car was keyed. What a great office staff we have! Yeah right. Currently they are putting in a black wire fence. It is the ugliest thing you have ever seen! They recently bought Pine Bend apartments behind us and have the same fence up over there. During the day the fence is left wide open totally defeating the purpose and at night the tenants actually have to get out of their cars to open the atrocious gate. People drive so fast through the complex I?m scared to even open my car door for fear I might loose it. More than once I have almost been ran over by some lunatic blaring his music not paying attention or simply not caring. The mailboxes are so underlit it?s too frightening to go check the mail after dark. There are no streetlights and half the time the only light is from the cars making drug pickups or dropoffs. I agree with the other negative comments that I saw. I too could hear everything my neighbors did in their apartments from going to the bathroom, to walking (which sounded more like stomping), to having sex. One night my headboard was even knocking against the wall from the neighbors bedroom. Funny thing is there are no neighbors on that side of us. The only thing that we could figure out is maybe Hampton Park apartments are being rented out as whorehouses part-time. Do not waste your money here. If you think they are cutting you a great deal stop and think, there is definetly a reason for it. Blaring radios are constant from daytime to the wee hours of the morning. There are no speed limit signs or any type of security. The management does not care what anybody does, from wild parties to driving 50 mph through the parking lot. As long as the rent is on time they figure who cares! I hate it here!
