Luxury Lofts - NOT!

From: -Anonymous-

We chose this location for the proximity to jobs and to live "downtown". It is advertised as an luxury loft but the only luxury here is the upscale appliances and granite countertops. We live on the second level of the building and our bedroom is HOT HOT HOT - there is ZERO insulation and no overheads fans to help. There are brick walls on two sides of the apartment and, while very cool to look at, they chip all the time! We find brick chunks weekly and there is always a haze of red dust.

The layout of the house is poor. There are only two windows that can be opened in the house and they don't have screens. They are hard to open and hard to close.

Parking: covered indoor parking which is a plus! Larger SUVs cannot park inside and the spots are really small.

Noise: You can hear the trains! Other than that, we have little noise.

Safety: This area is pretty safe and the building has controlled access...in fact, the access is so dafe, you have to do all the way to the door to let someone in and they have to call you first from their cell phone - this includes delivery drivers (UPS, etc).

Construction: Okay but not luxury level. We cannot close our walk-in closet if we have clothes all the way to the end so we lose over half the closet. The door was incorrectly mounted and the wire shelving (yes, wire shelving in a luxury apt) is set out too far. The original wood floors are not sealed so there are splinters, nails, grout of some sort and all kinds of fun stuff that comes up from the floors.

Maintenance: The issues we have had have been corrected quickly and professionally. We have no complaints.

Staff: Until recently, we have had no issues with the staff. We have had one encounter with a staff member who was less than professional.

Overall: We have enjoyed living here only because of the great neighbors. But if we had to do it all over again, we would not live here. The quality versus price versus location equation does not equal out - TOO MUCH money for too little in return.

Grounds: There is a deck for the residents to use but it is not upgraded and there are no plants.
