I lived in Barington Place with a roommate. We both had small dogs. It is policy that ALL dogs must be walked on a leash. However, many residents DO NOT like pets and were very cruel and abusive to many pets (eventhough they were on leashes). I have witnessed residents kick and throw rocks at animals. People must remember they are the ones who chose to live in an apartment and by doing that they are agreeing to terms and conditions they may not agree too. I am very disappointed in the residents and in the way in which the staff handled the situation. I realize the leasing office cannot discriminate against others but, it needs to be made CLEAR that animals do reside in the complex.

I am also very disappointed in the "checklist" of items that residents may be responsible/charged for once their lease has been fulfilled. The "checklist" contains a detailed list of charges that residents may be charged and billed for once the resident has "moved out." It was not clear as to whether the charges would be deducted from the deposit or if they were additional charges.

I simply cannot "put my finger" on why the residents seemed so unfriendly but, they were. I just never felt "at home" living there!

It is also a very "noisy" apt....you can hear everything your neighbors are doing and saying. For the price, I would highly recommend renting a house if buying one is not an option!

The security gate always remained open and if it wasn't all anyone had to do was wait until someone drove in and follow them into the gate. Do not let the staff convince you that it is a safe-gated community!

I would not recommend this complex to anyone!

I have never witnessed anyone throwing anything at animals. I however did notice sometimes people would just let dogs out without leashes and let dogs make a mess without cleaning it up.

You must be from somewhere else. Welcome to Montgomery! By-and-large, most people here seem relatively unfriendly. I was really struck by it when I first moved here, it being THE HEART of the South and supposedly the home of Southern Hospitality. It's changed quite a bit since I first moved here in 1999, but is still mostly the same.
