My fiance and I were looking for a new, bigger apartment because we found out we are expecting our second child. The first day we went there, we had to wait nearly 45 minutes before one of the staff could "help" us. We had no problem being shown the apartment, but they were so busy and shorthanded, we decided to take the application home with us to fill out and return the next day. When we got there the next day, a different woman was working in the office. She told us we couldn't rent the floorplan we had looked at the day before because they didn't have any empty. We told her the woman who helped us the day before told us there were several empty and even showed us a completely one. The woman kept ignoring us like she hadn't heard what we said. She showed us a different floor plan that still had the number of bedrooms we needed, but told us it would be over a month before we could rent it, even though it looked move in ready. I asked her why and she gave a vague answer about maintenance needing to do "something" to the unit. We turned in our applications and paid our $100 application fee, yet we never heard back from the management at Vaughn Lakes. We called several times to inquire about our application and were told the person we needed to talk to was named Kim, yet the mysterious Kim was never in the office. We finally went up there. Once again, there was no Kim in the office and the manager told us all of the units we had looked at were no longer available. I wouldn't recommend that anyone look at Vaughn Lakes.
