We have lived here for a year while in military training. The Verandas advertise themselves as luxury apartments. While they are nice, luxury might be a bit strong.
Pros - Great, responsive admin and maintenance staff - Safe, secure (miscreants are not tolerated, security gates used religiously) - Friendly, mostly quite neighborhood - Pet friendly - Close to interstate and shopping with no traffic problems - Cannot hear any neighbors on the same floor. - Decent fitness center w/ nice cardio equipment - Trailer parking (limited) - Well manicured grounds - Apartment is spacious - Honor rent.com rebate
Cons - Can hear neighbors above... extremely poor vertical sound insulation - Parking, while adequate, is not evenly distributed. Leads to parking "hot spots" - Silver colored appliances does not mean stainless (as advertised) - Some pet owners don't pick up after their pets - Construction took some shortcuts...outdoor trim, rain gutters, shutters
Some general Montgomery observations: - Crime seems to be moving towards the east. Verandas may have issues in the future. - Cigarette butts are everywhere (city-wide). Makes dining outside unpleasant. - I've seen more flat tires/ cracked windshields here than anywhere else. Roads are rough and littered with debris. - Extremely aggressive drivers (think NASCAR) compound traffic problems. - Reports of poor schools in Montgomery (we have no kids). Prattville better. - Lake Martin is great qmzu4EHcaGAPVCPw2Fai

While I have visited family that lives in the Verandas, I tend to agree. Pool is very small compared to complex size and the kids are never supervised by parents and they run all around screaming. Yes kids play but god forbid if something should happen while un-attended I heard Wetumpka is the place to look at as far as schools and less of the city crime element moving in. Love East Chase and surrounding stores but Ive been told its coming to be like city shopping before long. Maintenace is excellant, maybe cigarette drop containers are the answer and lets clean up those hallways, not very neat almost trashy dirty for luxury. Do not live below anybody is right. Thank god when 3rd floor became available we got it.
