I lived in Vintage Point from 2006-2008. When I first moved there I was in college, looking for the cheapest apartments available. I got what I paid for. We were in a building that was constantly loud, either from those in the apartments adjacent to mine or from vehicles booming music in the parking lot. It was sometimes scary and funny at the same time when the Montgomery City Police did drug busts on my neighbors. In the 1.5 years I lived there I saw three drug bust, one random shooting into a building, one homicide, and one suicide. Looking back I think that is somewhat abnormal but at the time it was just what life was like living there. As other reviews have stated, maintenance was terrible. From the time you move in you'll probably notice that the carpet is dingy, the doors don't close properly (because of being kicked in), the cabinets aren't mounted to the wall, and your air conditioning units are constantly losing freon. Usually the dumpsters are overflowing and the trash cans in the mailroom are never emptied. Only for one 2 month period in the eighteen months that I lived there were one of the two pools made to where you could swim. Even then the one by the office was disgusting and all the chairs were rotten. The staff took some getting used to, and yes the forgot who i was every time for the first year, but I grew to really appreciate them. It's not overly outgoing in the office, but there are some great individuals once they find out you're not there to harass them or trash the place. So my overall advice for surviving VP is to always lock your doors, keep your blinds pulled, keep to yourself, lock your car and take out any valuables, pay on time, and move out when you can afford to.
