I have lived here for 4 years and it has gotten worse year after year. It seems like every week or so, there is a problem with the water. Either the ceiling would leak, the bathtub & sinks would stop up, the toilet wouldn't flush, etc. Every time, maintenance would always tell us they will come to the apartment "later that day", but I don't see them until 3 weeks after I call. The laundromat is a piece of crap. Once when I washed my clothes, the washer left them completely soaked and the dryer never dried them. I started driving to another laundromat across town for 3 years before I decided to try the laundromat in my complex again. I figured in 3 years, either maintenance would have fixed the machines or purchased new ones. Wrong! I had the EXACT same problem 3 years later! The area is not the problem; it's the PEOPLE! Like some people have said, you're better off moving to a housing project. My apartment got burglarized TWICE in 3 years. Most of the people that live here act like they come from a ghetto. They blast their music at all hours of the night, and they just sit around and do nothing but watch YOU go to work so they can go to work at robbing you. If you can go to work and make an honest living, then why can't they' They behave like stereotypical Black thugs. It goes to show you that certain types of people don't deserve to live in a nice neighborhood because they can't act right and they bring their bad habits to your neighborhood and ruin its reputation. All hardworking people shouldn't have to share a neighborhood with these thugs.
