My wife and I just recently moved to the The Huntley. I have to admit that I have not experienced any of the issues the people below have had. The management (especially Sherry) has been courteous and professional. After moving in, we had a problem with the shower faucet and it was repaired immediately. Being a former home owner, I understand maintenance issues. I just want the problems repaired quickly and correctly and so far they have been. When we moved here from Atlanta we were looking for a place to live that was safe, clean and affordable. So far our time here has been excellent and has exceeded all of our expectations. The neighbors have been quiet and friendly. The complex has been clean and well kept. So far, we honestly couldn't have hoped for a better apartment experience. I would recommend The Huntley to anyone looking for a nice and comfortable place to live.

I don't know about the credit issues but I can tell you this, the absolute ONLY reason I live at the Huntley is for convenience. I work within 1 mile of the complex so I can't beat the convenience but other than that, the living conditions are terrible. I moved in when Susan was manager and know MANY others that did. If you had walked in the office when Susan was there, totally different atmosphere. Very clean, organized, professional. . .Now, you have to step over the piles of paperwork, bags of chips and clutter to get to the office to pay your rent and usually are greeted with no less than a sigh and exasperated, can I help you. . . With Susan, there was always a smile and friendly banter. SHE MADE TIME FOR HER TENANTS!!! I am not a friend of Susan outside of the interactions we had in the office when she was the manager, so I have no reason to be partial, the difference in management styles is totally visable and disappointing. Here are some of my issues: ~The outside patio door paint is flaking off all the way around it. ~The patio roofs on ground floor are unfinished. I live on the bottom floor so if my upstairs neighbor spills anything, down it pours. ~No ventilation in the bedrooms, at all. . .or one will freeze you out and the other will burn you up. ~Wall leaked around bedroom window ~Dishwasher leaked ~Upstairs tub and toilet leaked, flooded my bathroom ~Hose on washer leaked ~Poor floor/ceiling construction, can hear every sound upstairs neighbor makes, including going to the bathroom ~Not enough parking ~Frequent water outages ~Power outages VERY frequently (have even been instructed as to how to go out to the meter box on the side of the building and throw the main breaker when my power goes out)Hello, can you say FIRE HAZZARD! ~A/C has gone out twice this summer (out 3 days) ~Black mold in the bathroom from water leak in the wall ~No answer on phone when calling to report a problem. ~Never a call back when you leave a message. ~Very unfriendly office staff. (Snooty, unprofessional, and unfriendly) ~Disorganized management, even with rent payments Some of these issues are personal but as you will see MOST of them are construction issues. Look, I know the question is, well, with all of that, why stay? Why not move out? The reason I stay is for convenience. I know there are better places and surely there are worse places, at the end of the day. . .I am there for convenience. . .Apparently I would have to wait until my lease was up anyway or get my "credit ruined" as indicated above and from my experience with "Sherry", I have no reason not to believe ANYTHING someone tells me about her. As for recommending anyone else to live here, doesn't really matter. . . once they move in, it will not take long for them to realize their own mistake.

I agree with you guys, Huntley apartments are the worse as well as their managment team AWEFUL! Susan was really good and took care of us. I have moved from the dump, look at my pictures of the mold issues I had going on.

This is the worse apartment complex around. First off the power in my apartment would blink on and off from time to time. One day it eventually cut off. I called the after hours emergency number, and the operator paged the maintenance man. Well he never returned her call, and my family was stuck on Sun evening without air, lights, and power to cook dinner. When he finally came to the building he changed the breaker on the box, but of course that did not solve the problem. Also he informed me that if the lights cut off again that I should go downstairs, and flip the breaker. (What an inconvenience) Finally management informed me that the company contracted to pressure wash the building actually acid washed the building, and there was acid in my breaker box causing my power to always flicker on and off. On top of the breaker being messed up the air conditioning unit froze up on me three times this summer, and guess what management told me to do. They told me to cut the unit on the fan mode so that the unit could defrost. Of course your question is why is a brand new apartment with a brand new unit freezing? Also the second bedroom cools only because the thermostat is next to bedroom. Therefore the back of the apartment may be 70'degrees, but the front of the apartment will be 76'degress. Kitchen & Appliances:(NONE OF THE APPLIANCES ARE ENERGY EFFICIENT) The sink in the kitchen does not have a spray hose, so to get bubbles in the dishwater you have to shake up the water to create bubbles. The stove is so cheap and old fashion it looks like the one from the "Andy Griffith" show. On top of that if you bake a cake you wont be able to look at the stove because it does not have a window to view items baking. The microwave is okay, but again not energy efficient. Also the bottom of the cabinets (the part that connects with the floor) has a wood grain contact paper that is peeling. (Yes it there is contact paper in a $780/ month apartment). When I first moved in the water hose that connects to the washing machine was leaking. They had to replace the water hose, and repaint the wall. Construction: The walls are paper thin. I live upstairs and a baby lives below us. I can hear the baby crying, I can hear them vacuuming, I can hear them talking, and I can hear their television. Parking: If you come to your house after 6:00 pm you run the chance of having to walk a mile before you get home. There are not enough parking spaces for the amount of people in the unit. Staff: The new staff is lazy, not personable, and inconsiderate. Also they advertise a computer and internet connections in the club house but it is always broke! TO SUM IT ALL UP! THEY ARE CALLED PELHAMS NEWEST LUXURY APARTMENT HOMES BUT THE ONLY TRUE WORDS IN THAT STATEMENT ARE THE LOCATION, AND THE FACT THAT THEY ARE APARTMENTS. THERE IS NOTHING LUXURIOUS, NEW, OR A PLACE TO MAKE HOME ABOUT THESE APARTMENTS.
