Don't believe the bad reviews. We love it here.

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2006
My husband and I moved in about a month ago and we love it here.
Our apartment is on the 2nd floor and I never hear any noise from my neighbors (or walmart). We even comment on how quiet it is here even though we are in the middle of town. We often sit outside on our huge screened porch (no bugs!!) and enjoy "people watching". We have a lovely view of one of the fountains.
The children in the complex play nearby on the playground after school, but they are not excessively loud and go in before it gets dark. The ice cream truck on the weekends is loud, but if you shut your doors to your patio, you can barely hear it at all, and the kids in the complex seem to really enjoy spending their pocket money on a few frozen treats (I do too!).
Most people pick up after their pets, and I always carry extra baggies in case you "forgot" yours. You get some "forgetful" people in every complex, but like I said these are few and far between, as I feel that most people (even us dog owners) like to enjoy our green areas to grill out on the weekends. I have lived in sevferal different complexes over the years and the people here do a better job picking up after their pets then most of the other places I have been. I do think that management should put up dog waste stations around the complex (out of sight of course)to make disposal of our bags easier then walking all the way to the complex compactor (Hint! Hint! if any of the management read this !!!), but I need the exercise so I don't mind too much. But those stations would be a welcome addition (Hint! Hint!)
The apartments are nicely sized, and modern. I think the complex is about 5 years old. They put down brand new carpet before we moved in. The colors are netural with the walls being a soft taupe (a nice change from the usual white you see in most other complexes). They offer on site storage and garages as well.
If you like to walk in the mornings you will have plenty of company due to all of the military folks--it's a nice way to meet your neighbors and make some new friends.
The car wash area is a bit small, but there is a very nice car wash up the street that I use regulary.
Parking has not been a problem for me either. I get home after 6pm and I always park directly in front of my building. Not an issue.
I almost didn't look at these apartments due to the bad reviews I read on this site from others, but they are completely false as far as I can tell. I would definetly recommend living here. The new management and maintenance staff are wonderful. Of course everyone's expereince is different, and I think your neighbors play a large role in the overall apartment expereince. We have wonderful friendly considerate neighbors, and we try to return the favor.
Other posts about water bills are somewhat accurate, you do pay water here, but that isn't a first for me, and the bill isn't very much. The electricty rate is high from Alabama Power so prepare yourself for the rate hike that just went into effect.
Overall I am well pleased with this complex, and with new home prices in the $300,00 to $400,000 range for 2600 heated sq ft, I think the $865 I pay each month for my 3 bedroom is a heck of a deal.
