I have lived in Highland Lakes since April 2006. In one year we have gone through three different management teams. Since the day I moved in I have asked to have my carpets cleaned and the screen on the porch replaced. (I didn't think that was such a big deal since the carpet is beige with black stains and the screened porch has holes in it that are plugged up with panty hose.) I have also asked for the white touch up paint on my tan walls to be covered and for a screen on the kitchen sink so I don't get soaking wet when I turn on the faucet. NONE of this has happened. They all say, "Oh, we'll send someone up there," but it never happens. Luckily I'm moving into a house at the end of the month (which, by the way, the mortgage is $150 less than the rent at this crap-hole), and I won't have to endure any of it any more. My condolences to anyone who gets duped into moving here. DO NOT TRUST THE SHOWING APARTMENT!!!!! Go to the apartments beside Lowe's. They're much nicer, and the lady who runs the office is a delight to deal with. (They also come with a washer and dryer.) WalMart trucks can be heard all night. You can hear everything your neighbors do... (And I mean EVERYTHING.) Do not move here. You will be very unhappy.
