I lived in Troy Place from Aug. 2007- May 2008. They are suppose to inspect the apartments when people move out to make sure there is not a lot of damage and that it is clean...well that didn't happen. When I moved in only one person in the apartment had renewed their lease but she was still gone for the summer. There was a dish rag on the counter that had been there all summer balled up. When I went to pick it up off the counter to throw it away about 2 dozen baby roaches came running out. It took me about a month and a half to get rid of the roaches in the kitchen and my pesronal bedroom and bath. I never had a problem with them again but my roommates did as well as spiders. The one time utility fee is bull. We always got hit with overage fees and always wondered why. The air never went beloy 75 degrees and we didn't have large loads of laundry and you would think that they estimate the average cost for an apartment of four people. Another thing is that make sure you either know your roommates or that you rate the same way in the match survey. My roommates and I got along but they were not into cleaning behind themselves or keeping the apartment clean. And if the leasing office tries to move you because they want to after you have already signed a lease for another apartment don't let them. All in all...JUST DON'T DO IT!!!

How is this the fault of the property manager and/or maintenance personnel? For one, the dish towel probably belonged to one of your roommates. The property manager and/or maintenance personnel are not there to clean up your mess. If you want a maid, call "The Maids". Your mom and dad don't live there to clean up after you. If you are grown enough to be on your own, you need to be responsible enough to pick up after yourself. Secondly, when you finally grow up and get a house, you might understand the value of keeping your A/C at a set temperature. Electricity is not cheap. I have been to those apartments, before and after they are rented out and they are kept up quite nicely. And the personnel that work there, have and will bend over backwards to assist you. The personnel there are outstanding. Take your blinders off, stop blaming others for the mess you all create, and become responsible adults.

The original poster said that the management team are suppose to inspect the property before allowing anyone to move in and that someone left a dirty rag that had probably been there since summer. If you look at her move in dates, she and her roommates moved in at the end of the summer meaning, the rag did not belong to them. Everything you said, your disertation on how to be clean is void because you misunderstood what she said.
