Cockroachs

Years at this apartment: 2009 - 2009
When my roommate and I moved in, we did not expect much but the place was ok for what we were paying. Well after about the first month of livivng here we began seeing cockroaches. When we would come home late, as soon as we turned on the light in the den we would see like 10 roaches scattering. So finally that started coming to spray and Azia was very good about getting the bug people to come spray when we complained. Well for about the rest of the fall semester, they would come spray about once a week or every other week on average. After they would spray we would not see a bug for about 4-5 days, then they would slowly start picking back up. They even bombed our apartment and did some other things which never worked. One night i opened the mirror cabinent above my sink to get my toothbrush and there was a cockroach crawling across my toothbrush. So after that I began to get really frustrated and we wanted to get out of the lease. So my dad sent a letter to sealy right before Christmas break asking for premission to get out of the lease. In the letter we stated that we wanted to move to another building managed by sealy that was in walking distance to campus and if we could not do that then we wanted out of the lease. Well there is no other two bedroom apartment owned by sealy but sealy tried to tell us we couldnt get out of the lease. Well on the last day of exams of the fall, I was awoken by a damn cockroach crawling up my arm and bugs don't bother me, I actually check cotton for bugs in the summer for farmers, but I flipped out. So we tried all Christmas break to get in contact with sealy and for a month they ignored us, we ended up having to get a lawyer so call which even took a while for them to answer her. Long story short, we did not get out of the lease but we got to change rooms in the building after Christmas break. This room was a 1000 times nicer, brand new carpet and vinyl floor and a actual decent size kitchen. So no signs of bugs for the first month, but lately they are starting to pick up. We are very clean so there is no excuse for them coming in. I actually have killed 3 today and I have not complained to Azia cause spraying them just makes it worse because these roaches are immune to insecticide, so it just gets them moving. So theres no use, this place is old and would be alright if it was not for the damn bugs that are everywhere. I find it hard to sleep sober here because all I can think about it one of them bastards crawling all over me. They would be better off burning this place down and building something else cause these roaches are not going anywhere. However, on the plus side, Azia is a very awesome and the location is good. If you don't mind bugs crawling on your stuff then this place is not too bad, but I never will live in an apartment managed by Sealy.
