A major selling point for the management is security - systems in each unit, etc etc. When you move in you realize that this was a lie. Renters do not have access to the security amenities in their unit (codes aren t given to renters for the security systems), no security guards are present (it's the only group of units from this mgmt company without security), and though promised a live answering service if you have a problem in the evening/night the reality is you will only get an answering machine. Additionally, once inside the complex if you want to leave by non-automotive means you will have to wait for someone else to leave in a vehicle to open the gate. People on foot or bike can t trip the gate sensor and there is no provision of pedestrian gate or gate opener from inside the complex. Yes, you are trapped; and if your schedule doesn t fit that of a 18-22 yr old you could wait indefinitely. Though mgmt has been aware of this problem for over a year they haven t done anything about it other than blame-shift the responsibility of this decision to the owner s cooperative. Apartments are not well marked so be prepared for disoriented neighbors (read: drunks) and visitors to try and get in to your unit with their key during the middle of the night, this happens with relative frequency and not just on game weekends. The units are newer but I don t know how they could expect anyone to pay 125K (1br <600 sq ft) or 157K (2br) to live in this sort of unmanaged, frat party-esque environment. That s a lot of money to be regularly woken up at 2 am to someone trying to get in your apt.
