The good and the bad

Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2009

I have lived at Stone Creek in a studio apartment for the past two years. Here's the good and the bad about Stone Creek:

Good:
---I have never, ever had a problem with parking. I almost always am able to park in exactly the same spot in front of my apartment. I cant think of maybe two or three occasions the whole time I have been living here that I had to park farther away.
---I have never had a problem with noise. Where my apartment is located, it is very, very quiet.
---Maintenance staff is very friendly.
---Grounds are very nicely landscaped and well-kept.
---I have always felt safe at Stone Creek, have never seen suspicious looking people hanging out, etc.

Bad:
--Like another reviewer commented in 2007, I agree with the kids in the pool situation. Stone Creek is very family friendly, which is not something I'm complaining about, but with SO many kids at the pool it is impossible to go just go for a nice relaxed swim.
--Again like others have commented, I also had problems with Joan. She used to live next door to me, and one day I had my neighbor's dog in my car while I was out running errands. I got a call from Stone Creek maintenance asking me to check the lock on my apartment door. I came back, and even though I did not have a pet of my own and had not paid a pet deposit, I had no choice at that particular moment but to take my neighbor's dog inside with me for just a few minutes while I checked the lock with the maintenance man there (it was far too hot to leave the dog in the car). That evening, I had a nasty note from the office slapped on my door warning me about keeping "unauthorized pets" and stating that I would be fined if I did not remove the animal immediately. I thought this was a bit excessive given the circumstances, and ever since then I felt like I had big brother always looking over my shoulder.
---It's location is good in that it is literally about two minutes away from Walgreen's, Winn Dixie, Food World, CVS, McDonald's, and Wendy's. It is also fairly close to Target and the Mall. The location is bad in that this is not the most desirable part of town to be living in in terms of access to other amenities or aesthetics, and the grocery selection at Winn Dixie and Food World is definitely not as good as Publix, which is 10-20 mins away.
---The fixtures, carpet, and kitchen/bathroom floors are cheap and it shows. Kitchen counter stains very easily, and the kitchen/bathroom linoleum shows dirt very easily and is difficult to clean.
--My toilet has not worked properly since the day I moved in. There have been maintenance people there to repair it many, many times but it always breaks again, without fail.
--Appliances are nothing to rave about. My microwave broke on several occasions.

OVERALL, like a lot of other people have said, I think Stone Creek is too expensive for what you get. It's a perfectly fine place to live, but unless rent is decreased than I think the complex needs to make some upgrades.
