not a tenant, but would like to be...if anyone was ever there in the office......

im not a tenant, so i cant form any sort of opinion of the place other than what ive based on what ive experienced from visiting people i know in the complex - seems like a nice place! that being said......
i have been living in little rock, but would like to move to city outside of little rock and i have a lot of ties to cabot, so ive been looking here for an apartment - i really, really like this complex - i have friends that live here, and love it, and I would LOVE to live here too, but unfortunately there is never anyone in the office to talk to about an apartment (although i have been told that when you CAN catch one of them, they are super nice, very helpful people) - over the last 5 days i have driven to the complex 7 different times to find nobody there....i've given them the benefit of the doubt, guessing that they might just be off showing an apartment for someone, but then i look around and realize that my car is the only one in the parking lot near the office - one day last week i actually waited outside the office with TWO OTHER PEOPLE who came up after me wanting to view apartments (one of whom told me he had been having the same problems as me, so he'd called the answering service to ask them to call someone who works in the office to come up and talk with him and nobody ever showed up), and we all got tired of waiting around and left. i have called the office at LEAST 3 times a day (monday through friday) to only ever get the answering service. ive tried calling during times when id be sure someone would be there (mid morning, early afternoon) and had NO luck. on friday i was pretty much at the end of my rope - i called (for the second time that day) at 1:30, got the answering service, and asked when she thought they might return to the office - she told me that an hour before, they had called to say they were "going to lunch" and havent returned yet - thinking that typically people only take an hour for lunch, i headed over to the office to see if could catch them when they returned, and waited in the parking lot for almost half an hour before i gave up hope of anyone coming back. i called again that afternoon and AGAIN got the answering service, and when i jokingly asked "is there EVER anyone there'" she laughed and said "no...this is typical...they are hardly ever there when they are supposed to be" i didnt have a chance to go by there or even call today, but i imagine i would have gotten the same result.....i think im done even trying.
like i said, i would have loved to live here, but it doesnt look like im going to even get the opportunity to SEE whats availabe, much less move into a unit - maybe they are completely full, and have no need or desire to show anyone any apartments which would explain there absence, BUT there is a sign out in front of the office that says "now leasing" --- talk about false advertising!
i suggest that they hire more staff if there arent enough people to have someone there during "business hours", or that whoever is in charge pay better attention to the fact that people arent where they are supposed to be....or at least get a sign letting people know that you are going to be gone for the day, or one of those "will return at...." signs so that we know WHEN to expect someone to be there.
despite what ive just said, all the people i know that live here are very happy with the place, and the complaints they DO have are just typical apartment living stuff that youd experience ANYWHERE - some people who write reviews on this site seem to have an unrealistic idea of what "apartment living" really is.....but thats just my opinion.

i couldnt agree more with this. i live in this apartment complex and have experienced first hand what you just described. its pretty much impossible to catch anyone at the office, and i find it to be extremely unprofessional. ive never had that kind of problem at an apartment complex before - in every other place ive lived, even if the manager was out on property there was always someone else there to answer the phone or give out info, but this is NOT the case at all at village square. and if you DO get ahold of one of them and they tell you theyll get back to you about something, dont hold your breath....its likely you wont get the information you need or the answer to your questions until youre able to track them down again. this is, so far the only complaint i have about village square - i think RPM needs to look into this.

i'm sorry you've not been able to see a place in the complex. i have lived here for over a year now, and i really like my apartment, and the complex in general (aside from very noisy neighbors, but thats no fault of the property) but i've had similar issues as the ones you've complained about here (in fact, when i was moving in, it took me almost a week to actually track someone down to GET the keys to my apartment), and I admit that it is frustrating and annoying, but its sort of been something i've gotten so accustomed to that it hardly bothers me anymore. ha. i live in a unit with a view of the office, and frequently hang out on my balcony or at the pool, and i have noticed that this week, there's actually BEEN someone in the office at some point each day (not ALL day, but at least for a little while). for the first time in a long time, i've seen the managers car there FREQUENTLY, and i almost died of shock when i called the office and actually got someone other than the answering service on the phone! hopefully this isn't just a temporary thing. maybe they saw this review and are trying to be more "accessible"??

Noisy fighting neighbors and barking dogs and dog poop all over the place that stinks and no one cleans up. Maybe they are never here to see it. It could be a nice place if it was tended to but is not.
