Absolute Worst Renting Experience of My Life!

Where do I even begin with this place'
About a month after I moved in, my air conditioner started leaking water onto the floor in my bedroom. I put in a work order for it, but it was over 2 months later that someone came out to fix it. That ended up being the model for anything that broke. It was always several weeks after the work order was put in that anyone would come out to look at the problem. Besides that, the maintenance men would leer at me and I felt uncomfortable being alone in the apartment when they would come in.
I often heard shouting from my neighbors at all hours of the night. One night, I got locked out because the gate was closed and I had not received the new code. As I was walking around from the neighboring complex, several men in the building next to mine started cat-calling me, making me feel very unsafe.
Then, although my roommate and I had been assured before moving in that our rent would not change until we renewed our lease, they increased it by about $15 about 3 months before our lease was up. This wouldn't have been a very big problem, except that we had dropped off our rent the night before it was due for the old amount. A week later, we were notified that we had a late fee due. We told them that we had dropped the rent off in the drop box, but they looked at us like we were lying and said the late charge was for the extra amount. When we asked what extra amount they were talking about, they said that they had put fliers on everyone's doors. We had never gotten any flier -- when we asked them to show us what it looked like, they couldn't find a copy of it.
After that, the management was always rude to me.
As far as grounds keeping...Well, that was also a nightmare. We had two dead trees in front of our building. I don't mean trees that would bloom in a certain season; I mean flat-out dead. When other trees in the complex bloomed, these still stood lifeless as ever right out my living room window. Other than the dead trees, the only plant forms were grass and some annoyingly prickly shrubs. No color, no imagination, no inspiration.
For all the problems I had to put up with, it definitely wasn't worth the high rent I had to pay.
To sum it all up: DO NOT RENT AT CENTENNIAL VALLEY!
