Liars!

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007
When I lived at Somerset, I loved it for the most part. I had been warned by a lot of people not to move in to the complex. We had several issues with the light falling off in the living room and shattering...They seemed anxious to help us get it fixed.
My problem with them developed when it came time for us to move out. I was a stay at home mom and this was our first real apartment. We had minimal furniture and no pictures on the walls at all. We even invested in a carpet cleaner to clean up any spills made by our toddler...however, he always at in a chair so that was rarely the case.
They sent us a list to review the grounds and I had nothing but praise for them. I asked about painting and they told me not to even worry about it because they had to do it everytime someone moved out...it was a necessity.
Then we got the cleaning list from them...It was insane. "Polish the brass, pull out the oven and scrub underneath, the same for washer and dryer, wash the door frames and window seals, scrub the blinds"
I was 9 months pregnant with our second child and was irrate that we had to do all this!
Nevertheless, I did. We cleaned everything in that place. I was on my hands and knees scrubbing under and on top of things we never used.
When we left, that apartment was in better shape than when we moved in.
We showed up for the walkthrough and they said we weren't needed because they had a move in list from us.
They marked everything as filthy, charged us for the painting they had to do (but had told us was manditory ANYWAYS) and told us the carpets needed to be professionally cleaned (something they told us they did everytime someone moved out)
I was irrate.
I was at home all the time and my home was immaculant...not to mention how much extra I did in the end to get it to "their standards".
The told us it was filthy and I believe we recieved about 25 dollars of our deposit back.
Stay away from this place. The apartments aren't worth what you pay, the parking is horrible and the staff is so unbelievably stuck up and rude.
