Absolutely beautiful apartments, ceiling fans in the living room and bedrooms, beige plush carpets, and wet sand colored walls with white trim, french door to private balcony and large storage room, not a typical cookie cutter box apartment as walls set in angles make it more interesting. Apartments are usually repainted and recarpeted after each tenant. Maintenance lives onsite as does the property manager. Buildings aren't very old, built in 2003. Don't hear the neighbors much except for slamming doors and the bathroom walls are very thin, you can hear your neighbor in their bathroom. Don't get a ground floor apartment, you'll hear every move of the person above you unless they are light footed. Grounds are well kept, with the exception of the monthly overflowing dumpsters. Air filters are replaced every other month and organic pest control sprays every month. Washer/dryer hook-ups are there and you can rent a washer and dryer for an extra $30 a month or use the onsite laundry facilities. There's a fitness center with a treadmill, an exercise bike and weight stations.

I absolutely love my apartment! But...

The staff and the cooporate office are the most uncaring group of people I've ever met. Except when it comes to money. Pay by the 5th or on the 6th, you get slammed with a $25 late fee and $5 per day after that until the 9th. Then you get a court ordered eviction notice where if you are lucky, you might get 10 days to get out, then they bring the sherrif and dump you and your family and your belongings into the street. Usually get two days then the sherrif arrives. If they don't like you, they'll claim you haven't paid your rent for the month and evict you as fast as possible so you can't fight back. You don't get a receipt, even if you ask for one as your money order receipt or bank statements are receipt enough. Make sure you get your money order receipts signed and hang on to each and every one of them or you'll be evicted for non-payment of rent for the month of their choice and you won't have any proof to counteract it.

You get charged a $25 application fee and a charge for a supposive background check that is never done. If it was, you wouldn't be able to by pot from at least one person in every building and meth in at least 2 of the 6 buildings. Had a meth addict in one apartment that had four children that she lost to DHS one by one all before the age of 2, had been arrested numerous times including twice from the complex for meth, even spent 8 months in jail and is well known by every police officer in town before she ever moved in, yet she was there for 9 months before she was finally evicted. Neighbors complained of smelling meth coming through the walls for months before she was finally evicted. Of course, the staff and the coorporate office didn't care until enough people complained about it. One neighbor is severely allergic to cigarette smoke and somehow it pours into the bathroom and spreads to the rest of the apartment. The staff claims they can't smell it and thinks she's lieing yet I've seen her sitting in the breezeway in 30 degree weather with red watery eyes and coughing and gasping for breath after she's been in her apartment to open windows and doors to vent her apartment out just so she can breathe again. She's asked the staff to seal off where it's coming in from but they don't. They tell her they will but they don't.

Break-ins are common as well. Thieves break in in broad daylight using ladders to reach 2nd floor apartments to break in through the french door. A 52" plasma television was carried out of one apartment in the middle of the day and no one saw a thing. They don't stop either. One apartment has been hit 3 times in one year. Cars are broken into in the middle of the night. Car windows smashed out and no one ever sees a thing or has ever been caught. The staff still doesn't care. "What do you want us to do about it'" is all you are met with. How about some security cameras or hire someone to patrol the grounds' But that costs money and they don't want to do that.

Oh and be sure to apply for tax credit housing if you can. All you have to do is list yourself and a kid if you have one, list a low income or claim you're a student, and you'll save $100 a month. Then invite the whole family to live with you and they won't evict you or do anything. As long as they get their money, they don't care.

So if you're looking for a nice apartment where you can buy drugs from your neighbors and have the whole family live with you from grandma to cousins and boy/girlfriends and their family but can pay your rent before the 6th of the month and don't mind the occasional break-in, this is the place for you!

Thank you very VERY much for this review! I would not live in The Ridge for free! Being an officer of the law, I will report what I've read and be sure to pay this apartment complex a visit-IN UNIFORM! Best wishes.

it is with almost certainty the review was written by a "FORMER" employee of The Ridge. 95% of all reviews written are either by former employees who are trying to "get back" at the property or current employees who are trying to pat themselves on the back. oh, and as for the person who responded...the officer of the law, what ya wanna bet he's the boyfriend : )
