Had I only known!

It was my very first apartment, and boy was I excited! 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, the first few months were great....then....what a nightmare! My downstairs neighbors tried to kill each other on a daily basis...the on staff "security" could have cared less, multiple cars were broken into, not to mention someone trying to break into my apartment early one morning....the answer from the staff "wow that has never happened before" WELL IT IS NOW! After a year I decided a smaller apartment was the way to go. From the first day there was nothing but problems out of this apartment. The air didnt work properly, but you know "since you are on the top floor, your electricity is going to be hire". But I was on the top floor before in a bigger apartment and never had such an issue. The dishwasher didnt work, the oven didnt get hot, the microwaver literally blew up, it sounded so much like a gun shot that my neighbor called the police. The breakers in the complex are so old that if I had too many lights on the in apartment the breaker would blow outside and actually 2 different times it melted the entire circuit. A new neighbor moved in, dealing drugs, I addressed this with staff, I was told, "his background check came back okay" I am sure Charles Manson's did at some point. That didnt change the fact that he was dealing drugs out of the apartment. When I had enough and found a house, my 30 day notice was not accepted, since they only take 60 day notices, I had no choice but to leave at the end of 30 days since I could not run the risk of losing my house, I was told by new staff that since I was breaking my lease and would not be getting my deposit back anyway, there would be no need to repaint the walls since they repaint anyway, WHICH IS A LIE, they are now attempting to sue me for rent and redecoration fees, give me a break, standard leasing law notice is 30 days notice, and as for the redecoration fee, new staff apparently have no idea of the rules so how am I suppose to know what is true or false. My recommendation is to stay as far away from this complex as possible. Apperances are definetely misleading! HAD I ONLY KNOWN!
