I found my apartment through Apartment Hunters, (who, by the way, I would recomend to everybody!) I got a really good deal on a two bedroom unit and promply moved in.
Yes, the kitchen is nice and roomy...But the other rooms are very small and lend to a slight cramped feeling. I'm on the third floor...after being told it would be much quieter and less traffic and 'safer'...well, they were wrong. The noise is magnified as people march up and down the stairs beside the wall of my apartment. Fights break out in the breezways and nothing is done by the office. The police have been called and the office knew about all of it but did nothing. Tenants 'hit' the walls and doors as they pass by and then slam their doors like children do when having a trantrum! Parking is a joke! People park on curbs blocking other drivers and possible fire trucks from getting through. Visiters park right in front of the aprtments forcing tenants to park further away where they are unable to keep an eye on their cars. Cars are parked in handicap-only spaces illigally and no one does anything about it. The office puts notices on apartment doors threatning to tow cars that are parked illigally, but I've yet to see even one car being towed. The office staff was friendly and professional when I moved here (Manager Judy Pope was great!)but we have a new manager and things have changed big time!
The Entergy bill is extremely high (poor insulation)and don't even get me started on the water bill! Nonsmokers beware! If someone smokes in an apartment 2 floors up or down, you will smell it in your apartment. Move here if you'd like, but know that there are a few adult bully's who live here and they have befriended the manager! Despite all these things, and many more, it is pretty quiet out here most of the time.

Wow! Well I hope you have talked to management about people fighting in the breezeways. The need to know. Well Im glad you wrote your thoughts about the community it is helpful when looking but other postings are really positive so I guess you have weigh out the good with the bad.
