ive lived here since april of 07. when we first moved in, the place was alright. the building has many wierd smells, and asbestos in the walls/ceilings. the building looks out dated. piss yellow color covers the walls. the paint around the elevators had been picked away by residents on every floor ive stopped on. the carpets in the hallways are gross. in my apartment, when i moved in, one window screen was broken. everything else seemed fine, expect for the sub par carpet. the units here are pretty small, but almost worth the price they charge, only when you factor in that they pay all utilities. the parking is ok, but the parking lot's not very safe. when i first moved in, i caught a guy trying to brake into my car. cars get broken into fairly often too. there are also many unsafe drivers who speed through the lot on a regular basis. once i saw a guy in his loud ass camaro chasing two little kids (less than 8 years old) around the parking lot at brake-neck speeds. very often you will hear loud stereo's in the lot as well. there are alot of people who hang out in the lot and yard smoking and drinking and carrying on, with no respect for anybody else. many many times my girlfriend and i have been approached for ciggarettes or money, and a few times drugs. just today on the way in from work, 4 guys threatened to rob me as i got on the elevator. twice while we have lived here, somebody has pooped in the stairwell landing on the 7th floor. often times you also find wierd substances in the elevator, like buggers on the walls, piss on the floor, or sticky soda/gum. the laundry room downstairs is never clean, and often 2 or more of the washers are broken. recently, after 8 at night, there is a girl in the lobby that tries to sell you her junk. many of the other residents (my neighbors, at least) throw loud parties on the weekends and like to scream and fight during the week. also, i have lost count how many times ive had to leave my apartment to evacuate the building, because somebody decided it would be fun/cool to pull the fire alarm. [ big thanks to the local fire department!! ] they do respond quickly and professionally, and bring about 6 trucks and 2 suvs EVERY time they get called out. the office staff is ok. most of the time the are professional, and resolve/clarify most issues quickly. however, the only real maintenance issue ive had, was not handled well at all. we had water leaking from the ceiling above the shower. from the time it was reported, it took about a month and a half for them to fix it. they figured since it was leaking into my tub, it wasnt a big deal. it got hard to shower after the 1st week once the sheet rock started falling on our heads. during the course of this issue, the property manager asked me why i didnt just fix the damn leak myself.(i used to work maintenance for the company, but had since left. either way, i pay rent, i shouldnt even be asked to fix it). this really pissed me off, and if my sister hadn't been around, i would have given the manager a piece of my mind. just to complete the story, this particular staff member is no longer working at plaza towers. the Air conditioning sucks. when they have it turned on, it never gets below 80 degress in the apartment, even when its 70 degress outside. the fans get clogged easily, and like to hum and make noises. they always turn the AC off too early, and that really pisses me off. when the heat is on, the building is always way too warm. the maintenance staff (1 guy normally) does a good job with what he has to work with, but gets backed up easily. recently, i have heard from residents that there is a drug dealing bussiness going on on two different floors in the building. almost constantly, there is at least one person standing outside of the buidling, who i believe is involved with the drug business. i believe he is there to alert the others if cops or other authorities show up. overall, this can be a half decent place to live, but i DO NOT recommend this place to anybody.

IF you take the filters out of the EC units(from the bottom opening) and clean them the AC works great. Its just they only clean them about every 2 years and there is NOT any ventahoods in the kitchens so greese builds up on these filters real fast. ALSO DO NOT place furniture next to the ACs. See my photos I posted, just my dinning set being by that vent was enough to make it not cool.
