My roommates and myself have lived at Valley Heights for almost 2 years. At first, the staff was helpful and friendly but about 6 months into our first lease, things started to change.
We filed a maintenence request to fix a broken toilet within the first couple of months and it was not fixed until last week (almost a year and a half later). Actually, it still isn't completely fixed but I don't expect them to take care of it again so soon.
Also, the shower faucet and pipes are leaking in the inside of the walls, causing black mold to grow in the cement between all of the tiles. First of all, this is a HEALTH HAZARD and can/will be reported. Secondly, when they came around to inspect all of the apartments, they tried to BLAME US for the mold, saying we were not cleaning properly!! We had already told them about the pipes leaking and they knew that was causing the problem.
Everytime we try to get any information from them, it takes weeks, even MONTHS before they give us the info.
We've also asked them multiple times to replace the light bulbs in the securtity lights behind our building and they never have. There are 2 lights and they are both out, making it very dark in areas where we should feel safe. Multiple break-ins have occured in our building because of the bad lighting.
We are not bad tenants. We pay our rent on time (it's only been late once and we got it to them within 2 days of it being returned), we have had no complaints filed on us and we haven't caused any problems. The people in the front office are always nice to our faces, but once we are gone, they don't do anything they "promise" to do (such as file a maintenence request). They hardly keep up with their grounds, they only have one maintenence man and he can't handle 8 apartment buildings by himself (with 2 new buildings to be added soon too!!!)
