I cannot disagree more with the negative reviews. I just leased my unit for another 12 months the same good terms I had last year.
Yes, there are problems, but I can hardly believe what a couple of people wrote. The warning that you need to bolt everything down to keep it from being stolen is so far from the way most people feel about the complex. I was told that some major changes were made here and an entire management staff was replaced so it is possible that things were different then. It is not like that now.
This is the only place I've ever lived where I never lock my car and don't lock my front door unless I plan to be away more than a couple of hours.
If you live in Marion you have undoubtedly seen a wide variety of vehicles representing the AR Highway Patrol, AR State Police, Crittenden County Sheriff Dept. and Marion Police Department. I assume it is because Marion is intersected by several of Arkansas's busier roadways. This may worry some people, most likely the type individual I wouldn't want to have for a neighbor anyhow.
The mosquito problem is a very irritating problem throughout the Mid-South. I've drive throughout the area for a living and it appears that the farther from Memphis I drive the thicker the mosquitos become. The problem was the worst I've ever seen this summer from Jonesboro to Searcy that people sprinted from one enclosed area to another and dared not keep their doors open more than absolutely necessary to get in and out to reduce the number of mosquitos that got inside.
open and close the doors of their homes and cars as fast as possible to reduce the number of mosquitos that get inside. It was bad here, but not that bad. I also observed trucks spraying for mosquitos several times a week.
I enjoy the surroundings. The golf course is nice to look at. There are also several ponds in which to fish. Most of the fish are bluegill and brim. They aren't big, but they don't make you wait very long between bites. I caught two catfish this summer that were nearing the 10 pound mark. That's a fisherman's guess so I guess you can shave as many pounds off that report as you want, but they were big.
Luckily, I've never had smelly or green tap water. I got spoiled drinking Memphis water, which has been ranked the best water in the country several times, so I occassioinally fill up a couple of gallon jugs to keep in my refridgerator. However, the water here taste fine. It appears slightly cloudy from time to time.
