LOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE

Ok i lived at Parc at Maumelle for a year. I couldn't wait until my lease was up to move out. My Brother also lived at Parc at Maumelle and he broke lease 1 month early because he lost his job and they placed a 6500.00 debt on his credit report. They rented his apartment out within a week and still demanded the 6500.00 from him. He looked it up on the internet and it turns out it is illegal for them to do that it's called collecting double rent; charging the person who moved out for a apartment that is already being rented by someone else. When he called the office to speak to someone about this, he spoke with Nikki who is a manager and advised her that it was illegal and she hung up on him. When i moved out in March, they charged me all of these hidden fees that i was not expecting at all. The fees were almost 300.00. I paid the fees because i knew they would destroy my credit if i didn't. The 200 people that live here all share the same Trash bin, it is a compactor. So many times that thing is so over full that there is trash all over the ground around the trash bin. Advising the manager does nothing to get it cleaned up faster. The office employees are very lazy, dont ansewer the phone half the time you call and there are even days that you need someone in the office and no one is there; just a clock on the door that gives a return time and NOT AT LUNCH TIME! The office staff is rude. In my one year lease, i was late one time out of 13 payments, and by late i mean by one day. I was one day late and i had a evection notice on my door. I was so shocked because i had paid my rent early or on time every month and i had to work overtime so i was unable to pay until the next day and BAM i wake up to a evection notice on my door. I went to pay my rent and because i was one day late they would only accept a cash payment which caused me to have to drive to little rock to my bank and draw cash out to pay them even though i have always paid on time. They said the evection notice is only to protect them and once i paid my rent there were no further problems but still that is just nuts. I could understand if i were not responsible and had been late 2 or 3 times but once and not even by 24 hours to get a evection notice, and they wont take a check from me, when i have paid with a check every month before then, that is not right. They tried to offer me a lower rent rate to stay and i turned them down. I could not wait to move from there. They are dis-honest and they have destroyed my brothers credit as well. Yes my brother broke lease by 1 month but that should not of cost him 6500.00. But i am basing my opinion on my expierence with Parc and i fullfilled my lease and besides being 12 hours late and getting a evection notice i paid early or on time every other month until my lease was up. I would not recommend this place to anyone. There are many nice apartments and much nicer apartments for less or the same price all over Maumelle. The office staff are so sweet when you visit and talk about renting a apartment, and they are dis-honest yet helpful at the same time until you move in. Once you move in, after 30 days, they could care less about you. They stop being nice for no reason i guess because they have you in there and know you can't leave then, but this is not the kind of treatment i expect. I hate how they are so fake when you are talking about moving in, then they turn and aren't even nice to you anymore. When i would have problems with the apartment, i would call the office they would see my number on the callerid and would not answer. I would have to walk to the office and watch them roll their eyes when i walked in just to report that my light switch was broken or my plug in quit working or my air conditioner quit working. That's another thing about parc, you have to get a lot of repairs. The repairman that works on site there, said that they built those apartments so fast that they didn't wire the outlets very well and he is always having to fix them over and over again. This is my review on Parc and maumelle and would not advise anyone to rent these apartments. My boss is also living there and her lease is up next month and she has already told me she is leaving over the same things. Ask people that really live there and not someone from the management team logging on here and saying they live there and we are all crazy and stupid. Ask the real people that live there, call them, visit them, knock on some doors and ask the real people living there what their expirences are and you'll find out why no one wants to renew their lease even when the office offers to drop your rent from 575 to 475 just to try to keep you. ITS NOT WORTH IT! believe me.

I will admit that the trash area is usually pretty disgusting. That is probably my biggest complaint actually. And I will admit that for what the apartments are, they're over priced. My bf and I wouldn't even be living there if we didn't get a very nice discount. Also, that is pretty crappy about them charging double rent but guess what...your brother did break the lease. No, they shouldn't have charged him if they were renting out the apartment but if they hadn't rented it out to someone, he still would have that on his credit report. He signed a contract and he had obligations. In addition, you are going to have problems (like being charged for ridiculous things when you move out) no matter where you are living. That's just part of living in an apartment complex. It's a business and they are there to make money. Also, you were still late on your rent. Even if it was just by one day. And how they handled it is probably just a procedure they have to follow. Parc at Maumelle is not an individually owned community. They are owned by a larger corporation that has communities all over the United States and I have a feeling the procedure for handling things (like when someone is late on their rent) comes from their corporate owners. And before you start saying that I am just an employee that is completely 100% not true. My bf and I moved down from Indiana in Decemeber. We are getting ready to upgrade apartements actually and will most likely stay in this community until we are able to buy our first home. If anyone wants to ask me questions just reply back and I will be more than happy to give them my e-mail.

BritanyJudd, I would like to talk to you...I am thinking of renting there, moving from Michigan and after reading these I am concerned.
