I lived here for 2.5 years too long. I was a college student and need some were safe and affordable. For the most part, the neighborhood is safe, but they've allowed a lot of young people to move in. Therefore, they hang out outside and play music and talk at the top of their lungs. It is an older complex, which means on average, the square footage is small than normal. There are no amenities... For example, no washer/dryer connection, no dishwasher, no swimming pool, no fitness facility. The buildings are old and worn inside and out, but the management does a mediocre job in TRYING to cover it up. Also, they have inadequate parking. The parking is very limited and if you have guests over, they have to park where ever the can find a spot... usually that is nowhere near your building. Furthermore, the rates are steady increasing, but no added amenities are seen. That was my main reason for my leaving. I almost forgot... they have a family of raccoons that are in the trash dumpsters, laundry facilities, parking lots, etc after dark. I know it maybe hard to control this because you don't want to kill the animals, but the least they could do is put up a fence around the parts of the woods where the raccoons come from.


In my personal opinion, the office staff needs to take a couple of courses in customer service. When you walk into the office, the maintenance man, office manager, and leasing agent, are always sitting aroung having personal conversations. You would think when you walk in, the conversation would stop and they would assist you. WRONG! I've walked in they carried on a conversation for approximately 2 minutes before I had to interrupt them and let them know that I needed help. They made it seem as though I was the rude one to interrupt their PERSONAL conversation. Also, it takes maintenance forever to assist with your problems, but it seem as though every 30 minutes you will see the majority of the office staff hanging outside smoking cigarettes. This is only a small portion of the rudeness and laziness of the staff.


Overall, West Scenic started out decent (not nice, but decent) and gradually began to go downhill. I would only suggest it if you are in a bind and need somewhere with a low monthly rate in comparison to other apartment complexes in Little Rock/N. Little Rock.

Yes, there is a laundry facility, but after dark the neighborhood raccoons hang out around the front entrance of the laundry facilities and the dumpsters.
