A nice place to live.

My husband and I moved into this complex so that I would have a safe place to live while he was gone to Iraq for a year. We had previously been living in Meadowlake Apartments, and had decided that this would be a much safer place for me.
The management is very nice and helpful. And the maintenance people are very pleasant and friendly. I've never had any of them walk into the apartment without myself or my husband answering the door. When they come for the monthly filter and spray check, or any other time they need to come to the apartment, they've always knocked and rang the doorbell. I'm not sure if they do come in if no one answers, it's never been a problem for me. They've always been very helpful when things needed to be fixed. One time my key became stuck in the door, and when I went to the office, the girl who was there came right to my apartment with me to try and help. She also called the maintenance man to come and help, and he arrived very shortly. When we've had a problem, maintenance has always come within a day.
We did have problems with ants in the kitchen and the bathroom this summer. That was the only time that we've had this problem, but the office was very helpful about sending the exterminator over. There are spiders outside that make webs by the door and on the balcony, but as long as I spray outside, it doesn't become a problem.
There is covered parking for one vehicle, and depending on where you live in the complex there is plenty of parking. We're unfortunately in an area on the back in a courtyard, and parking is very competitive for us. However, if you live on a side of the building next to the parking lot, you shouldn't have a problem finding a good parking space.
My husband and I both feel very safe here. We haven't had any trouble with neighbors and the noise level is better than other apartments we've lived in. There was an incident where my husbands motorcycle got kicked over by a young man who was harrassing another tentant. This young man did not live in the complex and I believe it was an isolated incident.
There is a pet deposit, and we were told that there is a 15 pound limit. However, I have seen larger dogs being walked by people, so I'm not sure how lenient they are about this. I knew someone who had to get rid of one of their dogs because they had three, and apparently you're only supposed to have two at the most. The deposit for pets is $400 and it is non refundable.
Some apartment have washer dryer hookups and others have washer and dryers in them. So if you want to pay a little extra to have them, we thought it was a good idea. There is a laundry room on site near the office. There is also a pool, which we've been told is for tenants only. Again, I'm not sure how lenient they are about this.
The complex is within walking distance to a First Community Bank, Sonic Drive In, and a gas station. All of these are with in the same block. It is also very close to the high school and junior high.
I would highly recommend choosing to live in this community, it has been a very nice place to stay.
