I lived in Aventura from May of '04 to June of '05. I found the staff helpful, and plesant. The rent was resonable (with the exception of an "add-on month" after my base lease was up. I had my outdoor storage broken into 2 times while I lived there, the mail boxes were also broken into, but that was not limited to Aventura only...many of the local apartment communities had this happen during the same period of time. Several cars were broken into, and there was at least one assult in the pool area. Many of the UTI students (which I was as well...but older and married) used the parking lot as their own personal racetrack, squeeled their tire at all hours, and sometimes had loud disruptive parties. Horns and car alarms sound all through the night. My biggest complaint comes from the construction of the apartments. They are highly inefficient...with my A/C at 78 during the summer, my electric bill would exceed $125 a month. That is way too much for 800 square feet. On any windy day we could watch the blinds be blown and hear the wind comming in the windows. All in all if the location is convienent for you it's a good place to live...short term. If you think it's a "luxury apartment in an up and coming area"...think again. It is basic housing for those looking to go somewhere else
