If you like Mosquito-Infested Moats then THIS is the place

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2008
I have lived at The Club for almost two years. Until May 08, this was the best apartment complex my wife and I had ever had the pleasure to live at. Since then, after new management took over, the grounds have taken a serious nose dive. There has been a problem with a sprinkler head in the grass in front of one side of the apartments which caused a pool of stagnant water to form creating, what my 1 1/2 yr old called a "pond". Over that time, it began to smell, began to grow in circumference, and went unnoticed for almost two months from July through the end of August DESPITE repeated visits to the office asking for some attention to be given to the problem. Instead of fixing the problem, the sprinklers were still going off at the original intervals, creating more of a flood. I actually called the environmental services about this, upon which they sent out an inspector who reported an active mosquito infestation problem in the stagnant "pond". Miracuously, the pond was drained a few days later, however the problem was never fixed. In fact, the pond is currently back, and the management CONTINUES to blow it off as not a big deal, yet we continue to pay the same amount of rent.
Other than that, the weight room is missing 2 dumbbells each of 20,25, & 30 lbs, a total of 6 weights. When I asked about whether they were going to replace them, the manager, with attitude, asked me why she would waste money to replace the weights when they're just going to get stolen again. Not the response I was expecting. The weight room is ALWAYS unlocked, which I know because I have used it every day since Thanksgiving. When I told her that might be the problem, she informed me that I was wrong...that the doors were always locked. I made her go and prove it to me right at that moment, which she tried to do, walked to the door, and, what do you know, it wasn't locked. I thanked her for the attitude and walked back to my apartment.
Under the old management, the manager lived on campus, however, under this new management, no such luck. The office closes at 6PM, so if you arrive at 6:01, you are too late! I did that once, that is how I know. We have had an issue with the fire alarm going off non-stop in our entire apt complex on a Sunday, which we called the Emergency Maintenance hotline for help. We never received any response back and had to call the fire department out to turn off the alarm. We had an issue with our front door sticking from warping a little due to the cold. This too occurred on the weekend, for which we called the Emergency Maintenance hotline for help. Again, never got a response back from that either and, luckily, we were able to force our way in. So, if you have an emergency, make sure it is not over the weekend!
So, in a nutshell, this new management SUCKS, but we have nowhere to go at the moment. I DO NOT recommend this apartment to any new move-ins!
