I have edited my review because I thought I was too hard on Terra Vista.
Terra Vista is expensive. I paid cash 6 mo. in advance and got the same discount anyone else would get, one month "free". With a lease of 749/789. per month, for ONE bdrm that is some "bargain".
The grounds are very pleasant, desert landscaping through-out. This is a smaller community.
There is a "business center": 2 computers, which are constantly being used by teenagers.
No fax. Copier is a bear.
Pool is a very small one only 4' or 5' ft deep. Gym is ok. No other amenities I can remember. Gated, renters are given an electric door opener.
Parking is IMPOSSIBLE for anyone with a car larger than a Kia or for those with (gasp) two cars. I have had someone in my space for a whole week once, and the tow co. took that long to get 'em out.
The apartments seem rather claustrophobic, and the "high" ceilings don't help. They make a big deal about having ceiling fans in the apartment. So what' With one tiny kitchen window, one small bdrm window, one sliding glass door (with the patio that overlooks neighbors backyard pool)
The interior of the apartments are not anything memorable, yet the mgmnt "PB Bell" heavily advertises this as a "luxury" apartment. Why' The appointments are still "apartment quality" (linoleum, granite "look" counter tops-linoleum flooring, beige carpeting cheapest stuff apartments have to offer: those noisy "single jet" dishwashers that don't clean your dishes, same ol' cheap towel racks and plastic bathtub (Roman style though).
When I moved in the hot water wasn't on.Service call response:3 whole days, since it was a Friday (a day when most people move) Then when it was turned on, the dial in the shower didn't turn all the way: another service call.
Then when I tried to use the dishwasher, no power. Another service call.
When I finally decided to opt for a landline phone, it took over a week because the lines in the apartment were defective. The Qwest had to enter the apartment and work on it for an hour and a half. I gave the bill to the management.
The WORST thing about Terra Vista, aside from all of the non-working items and service calls/inconvenience I had is this: Absolutely awful sound problem! This is unacceptable, I could actually hear my downstairs neighbor SLEEPING! I had a good idea of his tv habits too (a big Fox News fan) I could hear him snoring and, believe it or not (believe it) BREATHING in his sleep. Of course I could not have known this before paying all that money moving in, and they would have lied about the noise problem anyway. Imagine trying to sleep in your own room, and hearing some stranger breathing and it sounded as if he were right in my room beside of me!(yeccchhh)as if there was no wall. Plus he was DOWNSTAIRS! what bad construction.
I cannot and will not recommend Terra Vista. The cheap and shoddy construction, the horrible parking problem, the noise and the trouble, the VERY high rent for what you get (very little) is just confusing to me.
I had had it on my last night they let speed freaks move in who had a very loud party and talked very loud and fast all night til 4 am when I called the police (of course they shut up RIGHT when they arrived) Police: "what noise'"
One more nice thing: After I moved out, they DID refund ALL of my security deposit. A lot of apts mgmnt companies try to screw you out of it.
