I lived at Autumn Creek maybe 8 years ago when I was a kid and my mom remembered it being great. So I thought I'd try it out when I was ready to stretch my own legs. Well, big mistake. This was my first apartment and honestly it wasn't that bad. People complain about it being unsafe but really my roommate and I just kept to ourselves. We never had anything break so I honestly can't tell you how maintenance was. It was fairly quiet except the groundskeepers could probably have used to start work a few hours later.

Well that's it for the good things. On to the bad. There was no assigned parking at the time I was there so if you came home any later than 7pm, you could count on having to park on the other side of the complex.

This apartment went through an ownership change while I was there so a lot of paperwork was lost. Sometimes I was listed as the only one on the lease, sometimes both of us, or sometimes just my roommate. The transition seemed to be sloppy.

But that doesn't matter because ownership has changed AGAIN, or so I was told. 6 months after I move out the office staff is all new. That makes 3 changes of ownership in 1.5 years.

On to my last complaint. I recently tried to get another apartment which would not approve me since apparently I have an outstanding balance at Autumn Creek. I then go to Autumn Creek which tells me that I owe them $127. $55 for carpet cleaning (which I was told was "nothing, since usually it's $85"), $35 for cleaning an oven, and a final utility bill. I hadn't heard any of this in the 6 months that I had been moved out. They had forwarding addresses for both my roommate and myself yet made no attempt to contact either of us. Instead they let our balance sit, and finally sent it off to collections. On our move-in checklist we stated that the carpets were already stained yet they still held us accountable for failing to get it cleaned. How can you demand a tenant, not responsible for condition on move-in, to take care of it !' On top of that, we had a staff member walk us through our apartment upon vacating who cleared us and told us we wouldn't be charged since we cleaned the apartment. According to the new manager, only managers can do a walk through so my argument for that was null. So I call the collections agency to find that of course, there's a collections fee involved, bringing the grand total of this larceny to $180.07. Thanks Autumn Creek for getting your ---- together.

ANYWAYS. Please do NOT move here. I'm sure the owners will have changed by the time you finish this, will have lost quite a few tenants' information, and managed to scam more people out of money. This place is a disaster and obviously a failing complex. Save yourself the trouble.

I'd like to give this swill hole a 0% but we had quiet neighbours and when our garbage disposal broke during the first month and the toilet started to leak, maintenance was on top of it. Doubt it would be the same with new management.

Don't assume that what used to be safe when you were a kid would still be safe today. The world is much more dangerous today than it used to be. Back in the late 1960s, I was a kid when I used to temporarily live in a small city in England called Nottingham. It used to be one of the safest cities in the U.K. Today, it's infested with Middle Eastern immigrants, English white trash and people on the dole. Homicides are now a fact of life there.
