it's not the worst, but far from the best

Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008
I've lived here for about a year now and though it's not horrible, I can't wait to move out of here. I live right next to the basketball court and pool. I watch people doing and selling drugs nightly at the ramada and pool tables. There are often times people playing basketball well after midnight. The basketball court does not have any fencing around it, so every missed shot goes smaking into all surrounding apartments walls, window, and doors. I've never seen any security here. The lighting at night is horrible...it is pretty dark, hence making it easy for all the drugs. I've seen police here almost weekly. I've never had any trouble here personaly, but it really doesn't feel very safe here.
The office staff is completely uncomunicative. They re-did the pool a few months ago. We were woken up at about 6AM by the sound of jack-hammers ripping apart the pool. I understand that it's hot out and the work needs to be done as early as possible, but neither I nor any of my neighbors were given any notice at all that they would be doing this, so it was a rather unpleasent surprize to be woken up this way. Even after all the work was completed, about once a week, the pool pump gets so loud (sounds like a motorcycle just sitting there running...but louder) and will stay at this noise level for about 3 days before anyone from maintainence decides to do anything about it.
Other than that, the apartment is pretty nice. We've only had minor issues and the maitnence crew has always responded very quickly and done great work. The layout of the apartment is nice and roomy (we have the single story 2 bed 2 bath). I don't hear a whole lot of noise while inside (other than basketballs and occasionaly the pool pump).
All in all, I will not re-sign my lease and would never move here again...but I really wouldn't discourage anyone from living here (especially if they can just take care of the security issues...and don't move in next to the basketball court).
