Not worth it anymore

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007
I originally moved here a year ago and was pretty happy with the place. It wasn't anything spectacular, but it was the biggest living space I could find at one of the cheapest rates around. Its right off of Price, which makes access a little difficult. The amenities are also terrible; the pool is closed about half the time, the jacuzzi has never worked, the tennis court's net is virtually on the ground and has cracks all through the concrete, the basketball court has never had nets and is rundown as well, the weight room hasn't had four pieces of working equipment in about 8 months and averages maybe two pieces whenever I drop by. Regardless, I was fairly happy with the place originally... it felt safe enough, the grounds were decently attractive, a problem I had with the apartment got fixed right away, and I enjoyed the 720 sq feet for only $575 rent. I felt that the benefits outweighed the negatives, I wasn't living here for the amenities, though it would have been nice to have them.
The second set of management came in and wasn't nearly as good as the ones that were there when I moved in, though I get the feeling that they were semi-new as well. I've had maintenance problems and tried to get them fixed for 3 months, after which I gave up given that they'd actually made the faucet worse after trying to fix it. I've also heard of several roach problems on the first floor apartments, though I've never had any in my second floor apt.
Anyways, overall, I was still happy enough with my apartment to want to renew my lease at the end of the year (it was up Feb 07). The faucet (and some hot water problems) were about all that had really gone wrong in my apartment, and I really didn't want to have to go through moving again. But maybe a month ago, a third set of new management came in. They've decided to jack the price up close to $200 a month. So, I'm moving out. This apartment was a good deal at $575, I would've originally been ok paying a little more... but its nowhere close to the quality I'd expect from somewhere charging what they charge now, given the access problems and the current state of the amenities. Since then, I've found a new place to live in Gilbert, maybe 6 miles away at most for $600 that's exactly the same size (720 sq. ft), more amenities that are well maintained, and its on a side street right off a main street so access is very easy. Its the best place I'd found, but there were loads of cheaper apartments around too that were far better than this place. If they ever reduce their prices back down to around where they are now, I might recommend a second floor apartment depending on how much getting into the complex bugs you and how much you'd actually use the amenities... but at their current rate no way.
