1st, I'd like to begin by stating I'm not a tenant, but only by the grace of God! I have no interest in wasting anyone's time w/lies or exaggerations. What I'm writing is 100% honest, & I hope you take the time to read this.
My boyfriend & I were prospective tenants, referred by a "friend" of the apartment manager, Darlene. I had visited the place 1 time before my move in date 9/06/09, & did a walk through w/Darlene, (who at the time), seemed to be just outgoing & assertive. She explained the pricing & showed us 2 different units. All went well, but for 1 instance, when I found a semi-dead scorpion in the bathtub. I didn't think much of it, (since we do live in AZ & all), & Darlene apologized for it, so..no big deal, right' Darlene ended our visit by saying she thought my boyfriend & I were, "good kids" & that she looked forward to our moving in.
Now, originally we were supposed to move in August 1st, but we chose not to, & this is when it starts to get ugly!
My boyfriend called the office to discuss our move in & spoke w/a very rude Nick. Well, long story short, my boyfriend decided we shouldn't move in, due to Nick's raunchy & unprofessional attitude towards him on the phone, I supported him, so it was a no-go at that point. Eventually, my boyfriend ended up talking to this "friend" of Darlene, (who he also worked with), smoothed things out. Darlene specifically told my boyfriend to just, "ask for her" when he calls in, but otherwise, all was well, & we could still move in. She even agreed for the September move in date, for the same price.
So it begins...I transferred over the phone service, my boyfriend cuts on the SRP at the new place, we get our "mandatory" 1st time money order, call up the fam' for help w/the move, etc, etc, only, we never move in...!'!'!
Why, (you may ask yourself), would someone pay all that money, waste all that time, & energy, just to NOT MOVE IN' I'll tell you why....

We sit down to talk w/Darlene, get our keys, etc, & she starts ranting about how she's mad at my boyfriend for "changing his mind"' She's pointing her fingers at us like we're in 3rd grade, talking down to us, telling us "how we need to start off on the right note"' She starts accusing my boyfriend of "being disrespectful" to her, when mind you, he's only talked to her once after the incident w/Nick, when she told him to "ask for her only"' Finally, I had to interrupt her & ask her what her issue was' I reassured her that I know how to handle myself, pay my bills, & show respect, but that I was definitely lost when it came to her, frankly, erratic behavior' She then says to us, "I'll tell you what", & takes the keys to the apt back, then gives us our money order back'
I then had to ask her "what that means", & mirrored her immature actions. She says, "it means you're not moving in"!
Well, after a few more crazy comments from her, I finally just had to thank her. I felt she did us a great favor, and I told her this. I stated to my boyfriend that he didn't want to live under someone like her, & she agreed w/me, only out loud, like she was proud of being lil' ------!!'!'!'!'

PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DO NOT MOVE IN W/DARLENE AND HER EVIL MINIONS!!!

For a lack of a better way to say it, they are all just mean!!!!
There's no explanation for it, sometimes people are just that way' But as my family member told me, after I told her this story, "birds of a feather".
