Apartments are great...everything else isn't.

I'll keep it short and sweet.
PROS:
1. Nice, fairly new (<10 years old) apartments.
2. Big windows
CONS:
1. Parking. They only allow one carport or one garage. So if you have a roommate, roomie has to park in butt-f**k Egypt as there are not very many open spots for anybody to park.
2. "Valet curbside trash pickup." You are *supposed to* put your trash out on the curbs between the hours of 6 am and 9 am, no earlier, no later. Do most people listen' NO! Therefore you get to see the eyesore of trash all day long after 9 am.
3. When apartment hunting, and stopping by here, and they quote you a rental price, GET IT IN WRITING! Otherwise when you do tell them you will take the place, they increase the rent by a couple of hundred bucks and say that the monthly rent adjusts on a daily basis due to the market.
4. If you want a garage or an extra parking spot for your roomie (for a fee), make sure you do it at lease signing and not request one later as they will give you the runaround.
5. Make sure you photograph/videotape the apartment's condition before AND after moving. Otherwise they will nickel and dime you for so called "damages."

All I have to say about the market thing is that you are a complete idiot. When an apartment complex quotes you a price, that is the price that they are offering THEN--not when you decide you want to move in! That is why they tell you you should put a holding deposit down so you can lock in the price they quote you. But I'm sure you were too busy fitting your head up your ass to realize this.

The pay covered parking is annoying, but I defy you to find a reasonably priced cpmplex with garages, let alone free ones. They quoted me a price for my apt here, and they told me straight up that was the price the quoted me that day. Maybe if you were paying a month to month rate it would change with the market, but without having lived in a complex for a year most places don't offer that. This makes me think this persons review was just because he was angry he didn't get the price the quoted him that day because he thought that offer would just stay there. Many placesw will make you a deal to get into their complex when you come for ther inital tour, which si why you should do through research before moving in somewhere, but to anyone reading this ignore this review this person is obviously not very capable and probably just moved out of their parents house.
