Overall, Country Brook has it right. I have read several of these reviews, and all I can say about that is if you are not a good tenant, the office will treat you as such. Given that, we don't have any issues. The complex is clean and well-kept, and the office staff greets me by name whenever they see me. I really give them props since this complex has 400 units!

Parking: Never a problem. Each unit has an assigned covered space, and there is ample guest parking. I have never had to 'circle the block' when looking for a space, nor have any visitors. Having two cars is not a problem as well. I have also never had to deal with someone else parking in my space (this was a huge issue at my last place...had the jerk towed and he keyed my car...real mature!)

Noise: I have never lived in an apartment where I did not hear my neighbors. People who live in apartments can't run around like nutballs at 3AM...you just have to have respect for the others around you. With that being said, this apartment is okay in terms of noise. I have never heard my neighbors on either side of me, but I do hear my upstairs neighbor frequently. Just remember, these are apartments. You will hear someone walking around, opening closet doors, etc., and you will need to deal with it. However, if it gets to be too much (pounding, slamming of doors, etc.) talk to the staff and they will handle it. One thing I must say though is that I never hear any loud parties or anything like that. The staff keeps a lid on that kind of activity (which I really appreciate!). Also, I live on the side where my patio faces Joshua Blvd, and I usually never hear loud traffic noises (just sometimes you will here a really loud truck or a kid with one of those motor scooters, but it's once in a while).

Grounds: The grounds are always kept clean and tidy. I never see garbage lying around. Any lights around the complex that go out are usually repaired ASAP. There is a huge, landscaped retention area along Joshua Blvd. that they maintain well all year. It does get pretty brown in the summer, but then again most lawns here do.

Safety: No issues here. I have seen the police come maybe two or three times in almost four years. The complex is well-lit at night. The first floor apartments in the 'Phase 1' buildings do have somewhat open patios to Joshua Blvd., but I haver had a problem with anyone coming up on to my patio randomly or anything like that.

Construction: The 'Phase 1' units were built in 1986, and were originally condo units. They have held up over the years, but you can tell that they weren't built with top-dollar quality (then again, most places in this state aren't). With that being said, I haven't had any issues per se with the construction. There were some leaks from the upstairs bathrooms down into our unit, but the staff corrected it immediately. I think that some of the doors are leaking air, since it gets rather cold in here during winter. Nothing that a little weather stripping wouldn't repair. The layout of this particular unit is unique (it is angled), but very functional for our large furniture. The units are spacious for the price.

Maintenance: The maintenance staff responds immediately to any calls. I haven't really had to call that often.

Staff: Okay, here is where a lot of people have issues with this community. The only thing I can say is that if you are a decent tenant (pay your rent on time, no noise complaints against you) they will treat you nicely. I have never had any issues with Kim (the Manager), Lisa (the assistant Manager), nor JoAnn or Lynn. They are all very nice and pleasant, and greet me by name whenever they see me (which is impressive for a 400 unit complex!).

I agree with pretty much everything you've said above. I've lived at the complex for almost a year and have only had some minor problems. My neighbors downstairs used to love to blast music, argue, and have loud sex but luckily they have just moved out. I also live in the 1986 condo-turned-apartment. It definitely does not look its age and I too love the angled layout. I have considered moving out, just for a change, but honestly I don't know where I could find something better that wouldn't cost me a couple hundred dollars a month more. I'm at $650, and that is pretty cheap for a nice area of Chandler. The Desert Breeze park is just next door and the police/fire station right down the road. And yes, staff are great. I especially love Joann and Lynn! They always greet me by name and have been doing so almost from the very beginning. My only sort of annoying issue here is that someone has always been in my assigned spot. And I don't have the guts to tow them because they seem like they've been doing it for a while... and i certainly don't want my car keyed!
